摘要： This invention aims to form uniformly and effectively an ultra thin chemical adsorbing film having an excellent water repellent property, oil repellent property, and contamination-proof property on the surface of a substrate by chemically adsorbing in a gas phase atmosphere. A chemically adsorbed film can be formed on any type of substrate and in a short time by chemically adsorbing a chlorosilane based surface-active agent on the surface of a substrate having active hydrogen groups. Further, a chemically adsorbed monomolecular film, or a polymer film, can be formed on any type of substrate and in a short time by forming a siloxane based monomolecular film or a polysiloxane adsorbed film in a gas atmosphere having a chlorosilane based surface-active agent having plurality of chlorosilyl groups.

摘要： A chemical adsorption film possessing a fluorocarbon group through siloxane coupling is applied on the surface of a photoimaging component such as a photoconductor, the surface of a cleaning blade, the surface of a fixing roller, the surface of a separation pawl used in offset of paper, the surface of a corona wire, or the surface of a corona grid. Further according to the invention, the chemical adsorption film is laminated via a siloxanebased inner layer, the inner layer being bonded by covalent bonds to the surface of the device, the inner layer and the chemical adsorption film being bonded together by covalent bonds. Furthermore according to the invention, since the chemical adsorption film of the invention is an ultrathin film, on the order of nanometers or Angstroms, it does not spoil the properties of the separation pawl such as mechanical strength.

摘要： The present invention provides an organic device comprising a substrate having a polymerized monomolecular or built-up multi-monomolecular film, a first electrode, a second electrode with said film intervening between the electrodes, a third electrode connected directly or indirectly to the monomolecular or built-up multi-monomolecular film, which device is operated by applying a voltage between the third electrode and the second electrode to control an electric current flowing between the first electrode and the second electrode through said polymerized monomolecular or built-up multi-monomolecular film between the electrodes. If the polymerization of the monomolecular film is eliminated, the device can be imparted with learning functions because the polymerization of the film proceeds depending upon an amount of electricity flowing during the use of the device. Since the present invention makes use of electroconductive groups in the monomolecular or built-up multi-monomolecular film, there can be produced such devices with organic materials as being independent of crystallinity even when any fine processing is performed for further increasing the high packing density of the devices.

摘要： A cell according to the present invention is a fuel cell for generating an electric power by supplying one electrode with a fuel and the other electrode with an oxidant. In the fuel cell, a catalyst layer is formed on at least one surface of at least one of the one electrode and the other electrode. The catalyst layer is a layer including catalyst particles alone, a layer including a mixture of the catalyst particles and other particles, or a layer of a porous film carrying at least the catalyst particles, and a molecule including an ion-conducting functional group serving as an electrolyte is chemically bonded to a surface of at least one selected from the group consisting of the catalyst particles, the other particles and the porous film. At least one of the electrodes has a thin film electrolyte, a catalyst and an electron conducting substance, thereby suppressing the elution of the electrolyte from the catalyst layer in an electrode part and the accompanying voltage drop.

摘要： It is an object to provide a conductive organic thin film having organic molecules that include at one end a terminal bonding group that is covalently bonded to a substrate surface, a conjugate bonding group that is located at any portion of the organic molecules and that is polymerized with other molecules, and a polar functional group that does not include active hydrogen and that is located at any portion between the terminal bonding group and the conjugate bonding group, wherein the organic molecules are oriented and their conjugate bonding groups are polymerized, forming a conduction network. The conductivity (ρ) of the conductive organic thin film at room temperature (25° C.) is at least 5.5×105 S/cm, and preferably at least 1×107 S/cm, without dopants, having significantly higher conductivity than metals such as gold and silver. In particular, a film of polypyrrole or polythienylene conjugate bonds that is polymerized through polymerization through electrolytic oxidation has high conductivity.
