    • PURPOSE:To inspect the state on the inside of a pipe accurately by transmitting radio waves into the pipe and detecting abnormality, e.g. clogging of pipe, based on the attenuation of transmitted radio waves. CONSTITUTION:Meters 6 are selected at two points on the opposite sides of a point to be inspected and then a service pipe 4 is removed. The antenna 13 of a transmitter 12 is then inserted into the service pipe 4 from one open end thereof until a branch pipe 2 is reached. Similarly, the antenna 19 of a receiver 14 is inserted from the other open end of the service pipe 4 up to the branch pipe 2 thus disposing the antennas 13, 19 on the opposite sides of a point to be inspected of the branch pipe 2. A transmitter 12 then transmits radio waves having frequency equal to or higher than a frequency determined by dividing the speed of light by 1.706 times the inner diameter of pipe. The radio waves are is transmitted 12 while varying the frequency continuously within a predetermined frequency band. The radio waves transmitted through the branch pipe 2 is then receives 14 and the strength thereof is compared with that of the transmitted 12 radio wave thus detecting the attenuation. It is corrected based on the attenuation dependent on the distance between the antennas 13, 19 and the corrected value is displayed thus inspecting the inner state of the branch pipe 2.

    • PURPOSE: To clarify a reflection echo from an object by decreasing the side gain (direction gain of both transmissionand reception antenna) of both the transmissionand receptionantenna so as to improve the directivity.
      CONSTITUTION: A ferrite 3 mounted on a n antenna element of both triangle dipole type transmission and reception antennas 1, 2 is made of a specific size sintered plate and mounted only at a position near a feeding part 6 for light weight.
