    • A switching contact, an electromagnetically operated electromagnet for driving the switching contact, and a drive power source device for driving the electromagnetically operated electromagnet. The electromagnetically operated electromagnet includes a movable core coupled to a movable contact of the switching contact, a fixed core located in a peripheral portion of the movable core, and coils wound around the movable core and the fixed core. Currents are supplied to the coils to drive the movable core. Capacitors store charges for supplying the current to the coils. Resistors are arranged in series with a path through which the capacitors are connected with the coils of the electromagnetically operated electromagnet and through which a current for closing operation flows. Capacitances of the capacitors and values of the resistors are controlled to adjust a supplied current characteristic to the electromagnetically operated electromagnet.

    • Magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) in magnetic random access memory (MRAM) are subject to read disturb events when the current passing through the MTJ causes a spontaneous switching of the MTJ due to spin transfer torque (STT) from a parallel state to an anti-parallel state or from an anti-parallel state to a parallel state. Because the state of the MTJ corresponds to stored data, a read disturb event may cause data loss in MRAM devices. Read disturb events may be reduced by controlling the direction of current flow through the MTJ. For example, the current direction through a reference MTJ may be selected based on the state of the reference MTJ. In another example, the current direction through a data or reference MTJ may be alternated such that the MTJ is only subject to read disturb events during approximately half the read operations on the MTJ.

In a case of the close operation, because kinetic energy in the overall system is consumed by the friction generated between the layered plates owing to distortion of the layered plates, energy that allows the movable electrode 2 to bounce back and forth is lowered, so that it is possible to shorten a chattering time.

    • Exemplary embodiments are provided of slider mechanisms for slidably opening and closing portable communications terminals. In one exemplary embodiment, a portable communications terminal includes a main body and a slider body sliding on the main body. The slider mechanism includes a first slider member fixed to one of the main body and slider body and a second slider member fixed to the other one. The second slider member is slidably engaged with the first slider member. A zigzag spring is disposed between the first and second slider members. One end portion of the zigzag spring is rotatably supported on one of the first and second slider members and the other end thereof is rotatably supported on the other one of the first and second slider members. The zigzag spring is formed of a first zigzag portion and a second zigzag portion having spring characteristics different from the first zigzag portion.
