摘要： An electro-optical device includes: a common line driving circuit; a data line driving circuit; a scanning line driving circuit; and an equalizing circuit which connects/disconnects a plurality of data lines to/from a plurality of common lines and equalizes the data lines with the common lines. The common line driving circuit supplies to the common lines a driving signal having a first or second potential. The data line driving circuit supplies image signals to the data lines at a potential higher than the first potential when the potential of a common electrode is the first potential, and supplies the image signals to the data lines at a potential lower than the second potential when the potential of the common electrode is the second potential. The scanning line driving circuit supplies, to a plurality of scanning lines, control signals for turning on or off a plurality of switching elements.

摘要： When error correction data, which is to be inserted into transmission data at specific intervals, is generated by calculating exclusive-OR of the transmission data, cumulative exclusive-OR of the transmission data is continuously calculated independent of the error correction data insertion intervals. Exclusive-OR between a calculation of the exclusive-OR at the time of the previous error correction data insertion and a calculation of the exclusive-OR at the time of the current error correction data insertion is calculated, thereby generating error correction data to be inserted at the present time. This provides efficient error correction data calculation.

In a TFT array substrate of a reflective or transflective electro-optic device, a lower-side recess/projection forming film 13a, is formed in each of pixels 100a in the form of a matrix pattern so that a recess/projection pattern to scatter light is formed on the surface of a light reflecting film. The pixels are grouped into a plurality of units, each including a plurality of pixels, and the recess/projection pattern is formed to provide a different pattern for each pixel at least in each of the units. Different recess/projection patterns are obtained, for example, by rotating the recess/projection pattern for a pixel as a reference.
