    • In an electric-discharge machining apparatus for controlling a machining axis so that an average voltage Vg during a predetermined sampling time Ts agrees with a servo standard voltage SV, the apparatus includes: an electric power supplier 9 for supplying electric power between electrodes of a tool electrode 8 and a target W to be machined; an electric-discharge detector 13 for detecting the waveform of electric discharge generating between the electrodes based on the electric power supplied by the electric power supplier 9; an electric-discharge generation counter 14 for counting in response to the waveform an electric-discharge generation count Nd during the predetermined sampling time Ts; a calculator 12 for calculating an estimation average voltage Vgs between the electrodes based on the electric-discharge generation count Nd; and an electrode-position controller 10 for controlling the machining axis so that the estimation average voltage Vgs calculated by the calculator 12 agrees with the servo standard voltage SV during the sampling time Ts.

    • The present invention provides a wire electric discharge machining apparatus for machining a workpiece (1) by electric discharge in which driving means (9) relatively moves a wire electrode (5) and the workpiece (1) while machining power supplying means (10) supplies a working energy between the wire electrode (5) and the workpiece (1). The wire electric discharge machining apparatus comprises working energy adjusting means (13) for decreasing the working energy per unit movement distance of the wire electrode (5) when the distance between an approach point (O) connecting a runway portion (4) and a machining configuration portion (2) on the relative movement passage of the wire electrode (5) and the workpiece (1) and a center of the wire electrode (5) in the machining configuration portion (2) is within a range where the machining volume of the workpiece (1) per unit movement distance of the wire electrode (5) is decreased. Therefore, it is possible to suppress an intrusion (6) from being formed on a machined face of the workpiece (1) near the approach point (O).

    • A wire-discharge machining apparatus for machining a workpiece by generating discharges between a wire electrode and the workpiece. In machining, the apparatus can detect all portions where wire-breakage frequently occurs and strictly discriminate between a condition detected and a control result, achieving wire-breakage prevention. This wire-discharge machining apparatus has an evaluating device and a controller. The evaluating device measure cycles, frequencies, or ignition delay times of the discharges as a measured value, evaluates the dispersion of the measured values, and outputs an evaluation value. The controller controls machining conditions according to the evaluation value.
