SOLUTION: The optical fiber bobbin 1 has a body 11, flanges 12a and 12b and a cushion layer 13. The body 11 comprises a metal or plastic and has a column shape, the outside diameter of the body 11 is, e.g. 280 mmϕ and the flanges 12a, 12b are disposed at both ends of the body 11. The cushion layer 13 is disposed on the peripheral surface of the body 11 and preferably comprises a foamed material, vinyl chloride or paper. An optical fiber 2 is wound around the cushion layer 13. The winding tension of the optical fiber 2 on the lower side 21 and that on the upper side 22 are different from each other. 摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispersion compensated optical fiber in which average transmission loss of an optical transmission line is made small as a whole while the optical transmission line is constituted of by connecting a single mode optical fiber and the generation of nonlinear optical phenomenon is suppressed. SOLUTION: In the dispersion compensated optical fiber, a minimum wavelength (a rising wavelength) in which an increase Δα=α1-α0 is >=10 mdB/km where α0(λ) is a theoretical loss value and α1(λ) is an actual loss value in a normal wavelength band and a longer wavelength side than the normal wavelength band, is located in a range of 1,565 nm to 1,700 nm and preferably the rising wavelength is located within the range of 1,620 nm to 1,700 nm. The optical transmission line is installed by connecting the dispersion compensated optical fiber and the single mode optical fiber which has a zero dispersion wavelength in the vicinity of a wavelength 1.3 μm and has positive dispersion at a wavelength 1.55 μm.

SOLUTION: For this dispersion compensation module 10, a dispersion compensation optical fiber 11 and a transition metal element added optical fiber 12 are optically connected with each other. The dispersion compensation optical fiber 11 compensates wavelength dispersion in the wavelength 1.55 μm band of the optical transmission line 2 where the dispersion compensation module 10 is provided. The transition metal element added optical fiber 12 compensates loss wavelength characteristics provided in the optical transmission line 2 and the dispersion compensation optical fiber 11 in the wavelength band 1.53 μm-1.57 μm. The total loss of the entire dispersion compensation module 10 is the one for which the respective loss wavelength characteristics of the optical transmission line 2, the dispersion compensation optical fiber 11 and the transition metal element added optical fiber 12 are totaled and wavelength dependency is reduced.
