摘要： A printing apparatus configured to print an image on a medium includes a head having a first nozzle group configured to discharge a first liquid onto a medium, and a second nozzle group configured to discharge a second liquid acting on the first liquid, a main scanning unit configured to move the head in a main scanning direction, a sub scanning unit configured to move the medium in a sub scanning direction, and a control section configured to control discharging of the first liquid and discharging of the second liquid, and in the printing apparatus, the second nozzle group includes an upstream unit disposed on an upstream side of the first nozzle group in the sub scanning direction, and an overlapping unit located on a downstream side of the upstream unit in the sub scanning direction and disposed to overlap with at least a portion of the first nozzle group as viewed in the main scanning direction, the control section determines, based on liquid volume of the first liquid to be discharged, liquid volume of the second liquid to be discharged, and in a case where the liquid volume determined of the second liquid is equal to or less than a threshold value, the control section makes, of the overlapping unit and the upstream unit, at least the overlapping unit discharge the second liquid.

摘要： An image processing apparatus, configured to generate print data to be outputted to a printing apparatus that prints an image by ejecting preprocessing liquid and ink onto a medium, includes a color conversion unit that converts image data representing the image into an amount of the preprocessing liquid, and a type and an amount of the ink for printing the image, and a print data generation unit that generates the print data on a basis of the amount of the preprocessing liquid and the type and amount of the ink. The color conversion unit converts the image data such that, when the amount of the preprocessing liquid for printing one pixel of a first image on the medium is defined as a first preprocessing liquid amount, and the amount of the preprocessing liquid for printing one pixel of a second image on the medium is defined as a second preprocessing liquid amount, the amount of the preprocessing liquid for printing a first layered pixel, in which the one pixel of the second image is superposed on the one pixel of the first image, becomes less than a total of the first preprocessing liquid amount and the second preprocessing liquid amount.

摘要： An image processing method is for generating print data to cause a printing apparatus that prints a print image based on image data to execute printing, by repeating a pass operation in which a nozzle set forms dots on a printing medium while moving in a main scanning direction, and a feed operation in which the nozzle set and the printing medium are moved in a sub-scanning direction. The image processing method includes: performing a first and second halftone processes for a same region of the image data to respectively generate a first halftone data to determine a formation state of first dots and a second halftone data to determine a formation state of second dots, the first and second dots being formed by the nozzle set that ejects a same color of ink; and allocating the first halftone data and the second halftone data to pass operations.
