    • A suction fitting coupled to a scroll compressor that has an outer housing with an inside diameter and a suction port defined in a wall of the outer housing. A suction duct is disposed inside the outer housing at a spaced distance from the wall of the outer housing. The suction duct defines an entrance port aligned with the suction port. The suction fitting includes a first member being generally cylindrical, and a second member being generally cylindrical. The second member is disposed inside the first member with a portion of the second member extending into the outer housing through the suction port, spanning the spaced distance to the suction duct, and coupling with the entrance port of the suction duct. Neither the first member nor the second member includes a suction screen for filtering out solid contaminants in a flow of refrigerant.

    • A scroll compressor that includes a housing and scroll compressor bodies disposed in the housing. The scroll bodies include a first scroll body and a second scroll body. The first and second scroll bodies have respective bases and respective scroll ribs that project from the respective bases. Further, the scroll ribs mutually engage such that the second scroll body is movable relative to the first scroll body to compress fluid. A drive shaft has an eccentric drive pin configured to engage a drive hub on the second scroll body. The scroll compress also includes a slider block that fits over the drive pin. The slider block has a first drive surface configured to engage a second drive surface of the drive pin. In particular embodiments, the slider block can tilt about one or more edges of the second drive surface when the drive shaft is deflected under load.

    • A scroll compressor includes a movable scroll compressor body and a fixed scroll compressor body that are arranged for relative orbital movement relative to one another to facilitate compression of refrigerant. To guide the orbital movement, a Oldham key coupling is provided that may include four keys spaced in separate quadrants for guiding movement of the scroll compressor body along a linear translational path along a lateral axis. Additionally, running clearances may be unequally and non-symmetrically arranged so as to prevent unwanted rotation of one of the scroll compressor bodies and thereby prevent unwanted edge loading.
