    • Supplemental bridging straps are used to increase the strength of a flexible metal concrete form assembly. A metal form has a flexible panel member with a perimetral flange projected laterally from one side thereof. Each of a pair of transversely opposite side sections of the flange is segmented by a plurality of longitudinally spaced V-shaped notches having their apices adjacent the one side of the panel member to provide for a lateral flexing movement of the panel member to a preselected shape. With the panel member in the predetermined shape, the segments in each of the flange side sections are connected together against relative movement to retain the predetermined shape of the panel member. In a first preferred embodiment, each flange segment is connected to an adjacent flange segment by a flexible metal strap. In a second preferred embodiment, extended flexible metal straps are used to interconnect a central flange segment to each of the pair of adjacent flange segments. The supplemental bridging straps bridge or span across adjacent flexible metal straps and the straps are interconnected to a corresponding flange segment.

    • A brush holder assembly (10) adapted for selective cooperation with a plurality of motor housings (12,14) and for holding a brush (90) in contact with a rotatable commutator (42) is disclosed. The brush holder assembly (10) comprises an elongated brush (90), an elongated body (50) and an elongated insert (52). The brush (90) has a generally non-circular cross-section and a semi-cylindrical free end (93) shaped to complementarily engage the commutator (42). The elongated body (50) has a non-circular inner bore (60) and a mounting arm (66) for selectively mounting the body (50) to a plurality of motor housings (12,14) in at least two different angular orientations relative to the axis of the bore (60). The elongated insert (52) is adapted to be selectively received and held within the bore (60) of the body (50) in a plurality of different angular orientations relative to the axis of the bore (50). The insert (52) defines a non-circular cavity for receiving the brush (90) in a predetermined angular orientation with respect to the cavity. When the body (50) is mounted to the motor housing (12,14), the insert (52) may be angularly aligned within the bore (60) of the body (50) such that the brush (90) can only be placed within the insert (52) with the semi-cylindrical free end (93) of the brush (90) in coaxial alignment with the commutator (42).

    • A method of assembling a metal shore post of a concrete forming assembly is disclosed. An outer telescoping tube is provided that has a main section with a first inside diameter and top portion with a section having a second inside diameter reduced relative to the first inside diameter of the outer tube. An inner telescoping tube is inserted for telescopic movement inside the outer tube. After assembly, a pair of pistons are inserted through access holes in the outer tube to provide a crushing force to the inner tube deforming it to create a region of increased diameter that is greater than that of the reduced diameter section but not so large as to prevent telescopic movement of the inner tube inside the outer tube. The increased dimension region thereby prevents accidental separation of the inner tube from the assembly, thereby improving safety and efficiency. Openings are provided in the inner tube in the region being crushed in order to control the region of deformation.
