    • An intramedullary nail, particular for use with a tibia, may have a proximal end part, a distal end part adapted to be introduced into a medullary space, and a central section. The central section includes a first curved section having a first length with a first radius of curvature, and a second curved section having a second length shorter than the first length and a second radius of curvature smaller than the first radius of curvature. The second radius of curvature may be less than the first radius of curvature. The intramedullary nail also includes a central axis. Tangents at two end points of the central section, including the first and second curved sections, enclose an angle gamma between about 9° and about 12°. The intramedullary nail may have a total length ranging from 200 to 500 mm.

    • An implant for an intervertebral space with a shaped body. The implant has a top contact surface to be placed on a base plate of a body of the vertebra adjoining the implant from above, a bottom contact surface to be placed on a cover plate of a body of the vertebra adjoining the implant from below, two lateral surfaces, a front lateral and a rear lateral surface as well as a central axis that intersects the two contact surfaces, a longitudinal axis that intersects the front and rear lateral surfaces and a transverse axis that intersects the lateral surfaces. The contact surfaces have a plurality of macroscopic teeth with central axes, where the central axes of the plurality of teeth are inclined relative to the central plane in such a manner, that a rotation of the body of 90° about the longitudinal axis is facilitated in one direction and impeded in the other direction. The distance between the two lateral surfaces is smaller than the distance between the two contact surfaces.

    • A method for performing spinal fixation and instrumentation. A first incision may be made through the skin and a passageway may be created to the spine. A screw may be inserted through the passageway and into a vertebrae. The screw may have a head portion including a channel. An insertion guide may be operable connected to the screw. The insertion guide may have first and second longitudinal slots. Additional screws may each be inserted through separate incisions or through the first incision. Insertion guides may be operably connected to a head portion of each screw. A sleeve may be positioned into one insertion guide in a first position to guide a rod through at least one other insertion guide. The sleeve may be rotated to a second position to allow the rod to move down the slots of the insertion guide(s) and into the head portion of the screw.

When placed in the through hole, the bushing is rotationally fixed relative to its longitudinal axis, but remains pivotally adjustable within the through hole relative to the bone plate.
