    • Calibrating automatic test equipment (ATE) includes determining an offset between a reference timing event and a channel event, where the channel event is associated with a communication channel of the ATE, and adjusting signal transmission over the communication channel based on the offset. Determining the offset may include obtaining a first time at which a reference timing signal is received at a device associated with a reference timing source, obtaining a second time at which the reference timing signal is received at a device associated with the communication channel, obtaining a third time at which a channel signal is received at the device associated with the communication channel, obtaining a fourth time at which the channel signal is received at the device associated with the reference timing source, and calculating the offset using the first time, the second time, the third time, and the fourth time.

    • A method for implementing distribution of link state information in an optical network includes: determining information of each link protection attribute section included in a Traffic Engineering (TE) link; carrying the information of each link protection attribute section in a customized TLV, respectively; distributing the TLV in the optical network via Traffic Engineering Link State Advertisement (TE LSA). With this invention, all the link state information such as multiple kinds of protection types included in one TE link can be carried in the customized TLV to distribute. Therefore, in the implementation of this invention, one TE link corresponding to one optical fiber can be configured with multiple kinds of protection types.

    • A calibration device is provided for use with automatic test equipment (ATE). The calibration device includes circuitry having a fanout circuit. The compare-side fanout circuit has an input connected to a first channel of the ATE and outputs connected to N (N>1) channels of the ATE, where the N channels do not include the first channel. The ATE propagates an edge on the first channel, and the fanout circuit transmits the edge to the N channels. Optionally, a calibration device for use with automatic test equipment includes a drive-side circuit. The drive-side circuit includes circuitry having multiple inputs connected to N (N>1) channels of the ATE and an output connected to a second channel of the ATE that is not one of the N channels. The ATE propagates an edge on each of the N-channels and the circuitry propagates each edge to the second channel of the ATE.
