    • A ranging receiver (10) including a cellular module (11), for providing time according to a positioning system to enable synchronizing a wireless system to the positioning system. The ranging receiver (10) includes both the cellular module (11) and a main module (12) that provides ranging receiver funtionality. When the cellular module (11) receives a time-stamped frame from the wireless system, it sends a trigger signal over a special hardware path to the main module (12), which then relates to the time of trigger receipt to time according to the positioning system by calculating a position-velocity-time (PVT) solution, using a local clock (18) to get the difference in time between receipt of the trigger and the instant to which the PVT solution applies, and then communicates to the cellular module (11) when it received the trigger, according to positioning system time.

    • The present invention relates to a receiver (1) for receiving a spread spectrum modulated signal, comprising at least sampling means (1.1) for forming samples of a received signal, at least one reference code block (1.4) for generating at least first and second reference codes, and a correlation block (1.3).     • A non-coherent integration period is divided into a plurality of epochs and a frequency space is divided into a plurality of sub-spaces. A result of a first non-coherent integration in a first frequency sub-space over a first epoch is combined with a result of a second non-coherent integration in a second frequency sub-space over a second epoch. A method of non-coherent integration in an environment subject to drift of a time reference, the method comprising: creating a first putative non-coherent integration value by assuming no-drift of the time reference; creating a second putative non-coherent integration value by assuming drift of a first rate of the time reference; and determining a non-coherent integration value using the first putative non-coherent integration value and the second putative non-coherent integration value. A method comprising: storing first data associated with non-coherent integration, over only a first epoch, of a signal occupying only a first frequency space; and storing second data associated with non-coherent integration, over only a second epoch, of a signal occupying only a second frequency space, wherein the first epoch precedes the second epoch and the first frequency space is smaller than the second frequency space.
