    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optically compensatory plate which excels in mass productivity, can be produced at a low cost, allows the transfer of only an optically compensatory layer to another material, and achieves not only thinning of the optically compensatory layer itself but also thinning of an integrated layered product at the time of stacking on a polarizing plate, a liquid crystal display device or the like, a polarizing plate with an optically compensatory layer obtained by stacking the above optically compensatory layer, and a liquid crystal display device using the polarizing plate. SOLUTION: The optically compensatory plate is obtained by disposing a pressure sensitive adhesive layer or an adhesive layer 4 on an optically compensatory layer 1 having a thickness of 0.1-20 μm formed by applying a polymer solution on a plastic substrate 2 and subjecting the resulting layer to at least one of extension and shrinkage after or during drying to orient the layer. The polarizing plate 11 with an optically compensatory layer is produced by stacking the optically compensatory layer 1 on a polarizing plate 3 by way of the pressure sensitive adhesive layer or the adhesive layer 4 formed on the optically compensatory layer 1.
