    • PURPOSE:To improve the setting accuracy of a flow rate, to facilitate the adjustment and to decrease the number of control loops for flow rate control by arranging plural flow rate control blocks which can be set to each prescribed throttling value in parallel with each other at the throttling mechanism of the draining side and switching freely a 3-way valve. CONSTITUTION:The water is sprayed to the steel stock carried in an attitude H through the multi-stage nozzle groups 13. Thus a flange is cooled. The stages of the groups 13 are selected by opening/closing a valve 7 in accordance with the width of the flange 14. Then plural control blocks are provided in order to satisfy the steel stock cooling conditions, and a cooling pattern is changed by switching a 3-way valve to the nozzle or draining side. The opening amount of an opening amount control valve 8 is obtained at every control block by reference to a computer table when the valve 7 is set. Then the opening amount of the valve 8 is set at the value set with coincidence secured between the pipeline resistance coefficients of the 3-way valve obtained at the nozzle and detaining sides respectively. Thus the flow rate can be easily adjusted, and the highly accurate control of the flow rate is attained together with the complicated switch of the 3-way valve.

    • PURPOSE:To enable easily the change in pass line in a short time by constituting a rolling mill of stationary outside and movable inside housings, supporting rolling rolls in the inside housing and making the same movable vertically. CONSTITUTION:The housing of a rolling mill is constituted of an outer housing 1 fixed to a foundation 2 and an inner housing which is made vertically movable by a pressing device. Rolling rolls 17 are provided in the inside housing, and the gap between the rolls 17 is adjusted with screw down devices 6 each consisting of a screw and a screw down motor. The inner housing is moved upward or downward when pressing devices 4 are operated, by which the pass line is changed easily. The rolling reaction to be generated when a rolled material is rolled with the rolls 17 is transmitted to stanchions 8 and beams 9 of the inside housing, but the devices 4 press both end parts of the beams so as to compress the stanchions 8; therefore, the deformation of the inside housing is prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To enable the installation and removal of a yoke to and from a stand by projecting coupling keys in the same direction in both vertical beam parts of the yoke, coupling the same vertically movably in the grooves of the stand and providing a device which moves the yoke laterally. CONSTITUTION:Coupling keys 9a, 9b are projected in the same direction on the outside in the vertical beam parts 8a, 8b of a yoke 6 of a vertical roll 4 of a universal mill and are coupled in the vertical key grooves 10 of an outer stand 1 so as to be made movable in the height direction of the stand 1 along the grooves 10. A hydraulic cylinder 11 is provided to the stand 1 on the rear side of the key 9a and the insertion ring 13 of the rod 12 thereof is connected to the insertion arm 14 in the part 8a of the yoke 6. If the length of the rod 12 is adjusted with the cylinder 11, the keys 9a, 9b are attached and detached into and form the grooves 10, by which the yoke 6 is held in the stand or removed from the stand 1.

    • PURPOSE:To make the change in pass line and pass shift easy by constituting a rolling mill dividedly with stationary outer and movable inner housings, and making the rolling rolls provided in the movable inner housing movable in vertical and lateral directions. CONSTITUTION:The housing of a rolling mill is made into the double type consisting of a stationary outer housing 1 and a movable inner housing 2. Rolls 3 for rolling shape steel are provided in the housing 2. Screw down devices 5 are provided in the housing 1 to adjust the gap between the rolls 3. The change in the vertical pass line is made easy by the upward and downward operation of hydraulic cylinders 6. A hydraulic cylinder 11 is connected to the housing 2 to make the housing movable in the transverse direction intersecting orthogonally with the rolling direction, thereby making the change in the pass shift easy. The rigidity of the rolling mill is thus improved, and the dimensional accuracy and quality of the product shape steel are improved.
