摘要： PURPOSE:To selectively separate and recover the title compound from the above- mentioned mixture in simple operation by bringing a mixture containing the title compound into contact with 2,4,7-trinitro-9-fluorenone and then separating and decomposing the resultant complex. CONSTITUTION:A mixture containing 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene(2,6-DMN), preferably hydrocarbon oil, especially 240-280 deg.C fraction of petroleum based catalytic reforming oil or catalytic cracking oil, as necessary dissolved in light hydrocarbon based or chlorinated paraffin based solvent is blended and brought into contact with 2,4,7-trinitro-9-fluorenone (TNF), preferably at 0-100 deg.C and then the resultant complex consisting of 2,6-DMN and TNF is separated and decomposed at 50-200 deg.C, preferably under reduced pressure of 1-50mm Hg. Preferably further, the regenerated TNF is circulated for use to industrially advantageously separate and recover 2,6-DMN useful as a raw material for polyester, etc., from the above-mentioned mixture in high selectivity.

摘要： PURPOSE:To separate and recover high-purity paraxylene, by bringing a paraxylene-containing mixture into contact with bis[1,2,5]thiadiazolotetracyanoquinodimethane and heating the resultant clathrate compound. CONSTITUTION:A paraxylene-containing mixture (8C aromatic hydrocarbon obtained from reformed oil, etc.,) is brought into contact with a compound expressed by the formula at -30-75 deg.C for 1min-24hr by stirring, etc., to give a crystal of clathrate compound of a compound expressed by the formula with paraxylene. The resultant clathrate compound is subjected to solid-liquid separation and then a component attached to solid is removed by washing, etc., by a nonpolar solvent. Then the solid is heated to 100-300 deg.C (preferably 120-200 deg.C) to separate paraxylene and the compound having >=99% purity simultaneously obtained and expressed by formula is directly circulated and re-used. Highpurity paraxylene is obtained in simple operation by the above- mentioned method.

摘要： PURPOSE:To recover the subject substance in high purity by mixing and contacting 4-nitrophthalimide with a mixture containing 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene to form a complex of both components, separating the complex from the system and heating under reduced pressure to decompose the complex. CONSTITUTION:A mixture containing 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene (e.g. a 240-280 deg.C fraction of a catalytic reformed petroleum oil or catalytic cracked oil) is mixed with 4-nitrophthalimide under agitation at -30 deg.C to +220 deg.C and a complex of both components is formed at -30 deg.C to +150 deg.c, The complex is separated by filtration, centrifugal separation, precipitation, etc., washed with petroleum ether, toluene, etc., and subjected to decomposition with a compound (e.g. ether or aromatic hydrocarbon), thermal decomposition af 50-210 deg.C under a vacuum of 1-50mmHg, etc., to recover the subject substance. Since the 4-nitrophthalimide used as a reactant can be also regenerated in high purity, it can be recycled and reused as it is.

Preferably further, the regenerated complexing agent is circulated for use to industrially advantageously separate and recover 2,6-DMN useful as a raw material for polyester, etc., from the above-mentioned mixture in high selectivity.
