The system comprises: a resource providing information for the device; a server to maintain the resource; a communication link providing the device with access to the resource; a data transmission module for extracting and transmitting access information about the resource to the device; and a data processing module for processing the received information at the device. In the device, a GUI provides information on a topic retrieved from local storage on the device and additional information about the resource is incorporated into the GUI for that topic.

The method may also include transmitting the activation key from the activation broker to a wireless registrar. At least one of the transmission of the activation key to the wireless agent and the transmission of the activation key to the wireless registrar may include transmitting the activation key via a short-range wireless communication technology. In addition, the activation key may include information for authenticating wireless communication between the wireless agent and a wireless access point.

摘要： In a wireless network having an access point (AP) station and a first client station communicating over a selectable channel, the first client station includes a memory operable to store parameters corresponding to a mode of operation of the first client station. Infrastructure parameters correspond to an infrastructure mode and ad-hoc parameters correspond to an ad-hoc mode. The first client station includes a control device operable to switch the mode of operation in response to a request. The control device switches the first client to operate in the ad-hoc mode using the selectable channel while maintaining association with the AP in the infrastructure mode. Switching the mode includes writing the infrastructure parameters to the memory and reading the ad-hoc parameters from the memory.

摘要： The invention provides a system and method for updating a resource to an electronic device. The method provisions a resource to an electronic device by: (a) maintaining the resource at a remote server from the device; and (b) after a triggering event, providing a data transmission to the device containing access information for the resource. The system incorporates the method and comprises: a resource providing information for the device; a server to maintain the resource; a communication link providing the device with access to the resource; a data transmission module for extracting and transmitting access information about the resource to the device; and a data processing module for processing the received information at the device.
