    • An LCD array substrate for a transflective-type LCD includes an E-field reflecting section formed under a transmitting window that reflects light when an electric field is applied. A gate line, a gate electrode and a transparent electrode are formed on a substrate. A channel layer between source and drain electrodes and an E-field reflecting layer are formed on the gate electrode and the transparent electrode, respectively. Portions of a protecting layer are removed to form a contact hole disposed over the drain electrode, and a light-transmitting hole over the E-field reflecting layer. A pixel electrode that is electrically connected to the drain electrode through the contact hole, makes contact with the E-field reflecting layer through the light-transmitting hole.

    • A method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display is provided, which includes: forming a sealant on a first panel; dropping liquid crystal on the first panel to form a plurality of liquid crystal dots; assembling a second panel with the first panel, wherein the first and the second panels have a striped array of pixel areas, each stripe extending in a first direction, and a first distance in the first direction between the liquid crystal dots is equal to or smaller than a second distance in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction between the liquid crystal dots.

    • Disclosed is an in-line system and a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display. The system includes a spacer-dispersing unit for dispersing spacers on one of two substrates of a mother glass, the mother glass having at least one liquid crystal cell; a sealant-applying unit for depositing a sealant on one of the two substrates; a liquid crystal depositing unit for depositing liquid crystal material on the substrate on which the sealant is deposited; and a substrate-attaching unit for receiving the two substrates from the sealant-applying unit or the liquid crystal depositing unit, then conjoining the substrates in a vacuum state. The method includes the steps of dispersing spacers on one of two substrates of a mother glass, the mother glass having at least one liquid crystal cell; depositing sealant on one of the two substrates; depositing liquid crystal material on the substrate where the sealant is deposited; and conjoining the substrates in a vacuum state to complete the manufacture of a liquid crystal panel.
