    • The magnetic recording/reproduction apparatus of this invention records/reproduces information on/from a magnetic tape by drawing out the magnetic tape from a tape cassette and allowing the magnetic tape to pass around a rotary head cylinder having a rotary head for a predetermined arc. The apparatus includes: a capstan shaft for driving the magnetic tape; a pinch roller for pressing the magnetic tape against the capstan shaft; a supply reel base rotatably attached to a shaft, the supply reel base engaging with a supply reel for holding the magnetic tape wound onto the supply reel located in the tape cassette; a winding reel base rotatably attached to a shaft, the winding reel base engaging with a winding reel for holding the magnetic tape wound onto the winding reel located in the tape cassette: a reel driving source for rotating the supply reel base and the winding reel base and abnormality detection means for detecting an abnormality in the magnetic recording/reproduction apparatus, wherein in response to the detection of the abnormality by the abnormality detection means, the reel driving source performs an abnormality relief operation including rotating one of the winding reel base and the supply reel base in a direction of winding the magnetic tape by a predetermined amount and then rotating the other of the winding reel base and the supply reel base in a direction of winding the magnetic tape by a predetermined amount.

    • The magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus of the present inventions comprises, in the order of a running direction of a magnetic tape supplied from a supply reel, a first vertical guide post located inside a tape running path at right angles to the tape running direction, a first inclined guide post having a predetermined inclination in the tape running direction located outside the tape running path, a second inclined guide post having a predetermined inclination in a direction opposite to the tape running direction located outside the tape running path, a second vertical guide post located inside the tape running path at right angles to the tape running direction, a rotary head cylinder having a predetermined inclination in the opposite direction to the tape running direction located outside the tape running path. The apparatus further comprises a third vertical guide post located inside the tape running path at right angles to the tape running direction, and a third inclined guide post having a predetermined inclination in the opposite direction to the tape running direction located outside the tape running path, whereby the inclined guide posts are substantially fixed to a chassis, accomplishing the positioning and inclination thereof with high accuracy, allowing the tape loading to be performed with a movement of minimal post members, thereby realizing highly accurate tape running performance and making the apparatus main body compact in size.

    • To produce a subject's image on an imager as accurately as possible, a technique that is effectively applicable to the process of assembling an optical system is provided.An imaging device includes: an imager; a plate member, to which the imager is attached; and a holding member configured to hold the plate member. The plate member has a first portion, through which at least one fixing hole has been cut, and a second portion, to which the imager is attached and through which at least one adjusting hole has been cut. The plate member is held by the holding member using a number of fastening members to be introduced through the at least one fixing hole and the at least one adjusting hole. When the first portion is fixed on the holding member, the fastening member that is introduced through the at least one adjusting hole adjusts the relative position of the second portion to the holding member.

The above components of the magnetic recording/reproduction apparatus are situated in such a manner that when the running of a magnetic tape is to be shifted from a first direction to a second direction, the rotation of the capstan shaft, in the first direction stops, the pinch roller moves away from the capstan shaft, the capstan shaft is rotated in the second direction by a predetermined amount so that the idler swings to the first reel base, the capstan shaft stops again, the pinch roller presses the magnetic tape against the capstan shaft, and the capstan shaft is rotated again in the second direction and the gear portion to be coupled with the first reel base, the gear portion rotating the first reel base in a direction in which the magnetic tape is wound onto the first reel.
