摘要： The present invention relates to a filter for liquid filtration, the construction of the filter ensure increased filtration capacity by using up the filtration medium rather that clogging up. The filter comprises layers of filtration medium (2) and optionally also layers of spacer medium (1). Liquid to be filtered can through bypass spaces circumvent a number of layers of filtration and/or spacer medium and is by at least one sealing (3) directed through the filtering area of filtration medium. End caps (5) with perforations (6) allow the liquid to be distributed within the bypass space between the edges of the layers of filtration medium and spacer medium. Rolled filters with a central core (4) to drain off the filtered liquid can be constructed in large dimensions. Also disclosed is a method making the filter. The filters are suitable for many purposes, especially for filtering liquid with oil.

摘要： Novel hybrid thermostable (1,3-1,4)-.beta.-glucanases, their use in food manufacturing and feed manufacturing, DNA fragments encoding such glucanases, organisms expressing the DNA fragments and a method for producing the thermostable (1,3-1,4)-.beta.-glucanases. Hybrid fusion genes encoding Bacillus (1,3-1,4)-.beta.-glucanases were constructed, the gene products of which are more thermostable than any (1,3-1,4)-.beta.-glucanase known until now. The hybrid genes were constructed by reciprocal exchanges of the amino-terminal and carboxy-terminal parts of the .beta.-glucanase encoding genes from Bacillus amyloliquefaciens and Bacillus macerans. The resulting thermostable (1,3-1,4)-.beta.-glucanases retain a significant enzymatic activity at temperatures exceeding 65.degree. C. and at pH values below 5.0.

摘要： Disclosed is a method and a medical device comprising a bio-compatible polymeric product with a layered structure comprising at least one upper layer of a first polymeric component, a middle layer of a second polymeric component, and at least one lower layer of a third polymeric component, wherein the chain length of the first polymeric component and the third polymeric component is longer than the chain length of the second polymeric component. The medical device combines the features of strength, durability and bio-compatibility as well as it has resistance to tear and wear and has a good compressibility. A preferred design of the medical device is a cup produced from a care or film of LDPE surrounded by two layers of UHMWPE fabric. The medical device can be used as implants in mammals, especially as artificial cartilage within joints to secure mobility of the joint.
