    • In a high-voltage apparatus according to this invention, a predetermined voltage is applied to a rotating anode after waiting until the number of rotations increases to such an extent that the rotating anode is not damaged. That is, X-rays of desired intensity are already outputted from a point of time when the voltage is applied to the rotating anode. Therefore, diagnosis can be performed immediately after the voltage is applied to the rotating anode. That is, unlike the prior art, there is no need to wait until X-ray intensity becomes suitable for diagnosis after X-ray emission is started, and there is no need to irradiate the patient with unnecessary X-rays. Therefore, the patient can be inhibited from being irradiated with excessive X-rays (with an improvement made in a response from when the operator gives instructions for starting fluoroscopy until emission of X-rays suitable for diagnosis).

    • A technique for detecting an abnormal behavior by monitoring moving objects such as human being and a car. The place where the abnormal behavior of the moving objects occurs is deduced from the position of the moving object and the direction in which the moving object moves and presented to the car. An abnormal detector comprises means for determining the position of the moving object and the direction in which the moving object moves, means for determining the place where an abnormal incident causing an abnormal behavior of the moving object occurs on the basis of the determined position and direction, and means for displaying the place where the abnormal incident occurs. Therefore it is possible to immediately know the cause of the abnormal behavior of the moving object from the video information collected by observation monitoring moving objects such as a human being and a car.

    • The invention provides a method for restoring degraded characteristics of a ceramic heater which is a device for heating a semiconductor wafer under processing and has a layered structure consisting of, on one surface of a supporting substrate made of carbon or a carbon-based composite material, successively formed layers including an insulating layer, an electroconductive layer as an electric heating element and a dielectric layer. The inventive method comprises the steps of: a first stepp for partly or completely removing the layer or layers having degraded properties by means of a suitable method such as sabdblasting and a second step of re-forming the layer or layers having been removed in the first step. The invention provides a substantial cost decrease as compared with the conventional way by replacing the worn-out ceramic heater with a newly manufactured one.

    • A treatment device for endoscope includes a flexible sheath, an operation wire that is advanceably/retreatably inserted into the sheath, a treatment part comprising at least one elastic wires that can enter and exit a tip side inner part of the sheath, and a connecting member that secures to each other a tip of the operation wire and ends of the elastic wires. The connecting member includes a cylindrical body part, and a plurality of walls that extend from one end face of the body part in the direction of the axis of the body unit. A proximal end of the operation wire is secured to the body part, and the plurality of ends of the elastic wires are secured to the wall in the direction of the axis; when viewed from the wall side in the direction of the axis, at least one of the ends of the elastic wires overlaps with the body part. The interval between mutually adjacent walls is narrower than the outer diameter of the elastic wires.
