摘要： A circulating type of automatic document feeding apparatus comprising a document hopper which is adapted to take out the top document from the hopper or take it out from the bottom to return in onto the topmost side, a first carrying means for carrying the document form the document hopper to a first exposure portion, a document presentation portion having the first exposure portion and the second exposure portion, a second carrying means which is equipped with an inside and outside inverting means for inverting the carrying direction of the document between the first exposure portion and the second exposure portion, and a third carrying means for returning the document to the document hopper from the second exposure portion. One face of the duplex document may be exposed in the first exposure portion to continuously expose the other face thereof in the second exposure portion, so that the copying operation of the duplex document may be effected at higher speeds and furthermore with considerably reduced operations on the part of the operator.

摘要： A timing adjustment system in a copying machine includes a slit plate secured to a shaft of a photosensitive drum for developing a pulse signal of a period (t') in response to the rotation of the photosensitive drum. A copy paper supply system is enabled when a predetermined time has passed after an optical system initiates the movement. The predetermined time is determined by a pulse number (N) of the pulse signal and a time period (T) from the development of the N-th pulse signal. That is, the actual copy paper supply is conducted when (N.multidot.t'+T) has passed after the optical system initiated the movement. A modification preset system is provided for modifying the pulse number (N) to (N.sub.m) and the time period (T) to (T.sub.m) by taking account of the actual copying operation.

In the first mode, the original is fixed and reading is done by a scanning exposure device and in the second mode the exposure device is fixed and the original is moved for reading. The second mode fixed position for the exposure device is the start position for the exposure device in the first mode. In the first mode when reading the originals is performed only once, the exposure device returns immediately to the start position. Alternatively, when reading is plural and continuous, successive scanning is started from the scanning end position which is regarded as the turning position for continuous copying.
