    • An object of the invention is to provide an ultraviolet absorbing composition for a skin and hair, which has absorption of high absorbance in both UV-A region and UV-B region, wherein an ultraviolet absorbing compounds in the ultraviolet absorbing composition will not precipitate or turn to yellow in the process of preparing cosmetics. Moreover, the ultraviolet absorbing composition shows excellent feeling in use, and will not dye clothes easily, and may be applied to the skin and hair of a living object, and exhibits excellent capability of absorbing an ultraviolet light.The ultraviolet absorbing composition for skin and hair, which comprises the ultraviolet absorbing compound represented by formula (1) and at least one ultraviolet absorbing compound selected from the group consisting of formulae (I) to (V). (In formula (1), Y11 and Y12 each independently represents monovalent substituent. One of Y11 or Y12 is cyano group, and the other is cyano group, alkylcarbonyl group, arylcarbonyl group, heterocyclic carbonyl group, alkylsulfonyl group, or arylsulfonyl group, carbamoyl group, sulfamoyl group, alkoxycarbonyl group, and aryloxycarbonyl group.     • In one embodiment, an image forming apparatus that digitally performs image processing and correction processing of image information, and calculates toner consumption by performing a pixel count of an input multilevel image, includes a counting portion that counts, pixel by pixel, the input signal levels of an input multilevel image; a weighting coefficient table that stores weighting coefficients corresponding to the input signal levels; a weighting calculation portion that obtains weighting coefficients corresponding to the input signal levels from the weighting coefficient table and performs weighting of each pixel when counting the input signal levels with the counting portion; and a rewriting portion that rewrites the weighting coefficients stored in the weighting coefficient table; in which a process control is performed when the calculated toner consumption reaches a predetermined value.

    • In an optical discharge apparatus used in an electrographic image forming apparatus, by forming, on a light guiding member, a diffusing reflecting face for reflecting light from an LED lamp towards a photosensitive drum, and by supplementing the amount of light by altering the height of the diffusing reflecting face to the light emitting face and the width of the diffusing reflecting face in accordance with their distance from the light source, the light intensity distribution of the irradiating light that is irradiated onto the photosensitive drum is made uniform. Furthermore, since light that leaks from the diffusing reflecting face is reflected by a reflecting film that is pasted onto an upper face in the vicinity of a rear end portion of the light guiding member, and returned to the interior of the light guiding member, the amount of light that is irradiated from the light emitting face in the vicinity of the rear end portion of the light guiding member increases, and thus it is possible to further increase the uniformity of the light intensity distribution of the irradiating light. Furthermore, an optical discharge apparatus used in an electrographic image forming apparatus is provided with a light guiding member that is arranged facing the photosensitive drum of the image forming apparatus, and an LED lamp for irradiating the light onto the light incident face of the light guiding member. A diffusing reflecting face for reflecting the light from the LED lamp toward the photosensitive drum is formed on the light guiding member. The rear end face of the light guiding member is an optically transparent face, and the amount of irradiating light that is irradiated onto the photosensitive drum from the vicinity of the rear end portion of the light guiding member increases by forming a reflecting face behind the rear end face of the light guiding member.
