摘要： The present invention is aimed at providing an image reading device that suppresses generation of a so-called edge shadow while suppressing uneven intensity of light emitted onto an original. A color copy machine 1 includes an illumination portion 347a that irradiates an original G with light. The illumination portion 347a includes a plurality of LEDs 501 disposed at predetermined intervals in a main scanning direction, an elliptical diffuser plate 507 that is disposed between the plurality of LEDs 501 and the original G and causes the light emitted by the plurality of LEDs 501 to diffuse, and a second reflection mirror 541B that reflects light, which is a portion of the light diffused by the elliptical diffuser plate 507 and not directly irradiated onto the original G, so as to irradiate the light onto the original G.

摘要： A clam-shell type image-forming device such as photocopying or facsimile machine has an upper unit and a lower unit hinged to each other at one side. Access to internal parts, such as the photosensitive member, is gained by unlocking the two units from each other and rotating the upper unit upward. A subframe is included within the upper unit and contains the photosensitive member. When the upper unit is opened, the subframe may be lowered to position the photosensitive member for easy inspection and removal.

摘要： An electrostatic copying apparatus comprises a housing including a lower housing section and an upper housing section mounted on the lower housing section and capable of swinging to open the lower housing section, a photosensitive drum provided in the upper housing section, a support mechanism attached to the upper housing section for supporting the photosensitive drum to allow the drum to be rotated and detached, a guide mechanism attached to the lower housing section for guiding the photosensitive drum to one end of the lower housing section after the drum has been detached from the supporting mechanism, and at least one peripheral device provided within the upper housing section, put in contact with the photosensitive drum during copying operation and moved away from the photosensitive drum to allow the drum to be detached from the support mechanism. The upper housing section is swung open to allow the photosensitive drum to be taken from it. The copying apparatus further comprises a detect switch which is attached to the housing and which is closed by a specific operation necessary for taking out the photosensitive drum from the housing and a lamp which is provided within the housing for illuminating the outer periphery of the drum and which is turned on when the detect switch is closed.
