    • PURPOSE:To adjust the exposure illuminance, illuminance distribution, and spectral distribution of a fog light by changing the light transmission quantity of a photoconductive member so that the intensity of incident light is increased in the carrying direction of the photosensitive face of internal latent image type silver halide photographic sensitive materials. CONSTITUTION:In a stage where a sensitive material 1 is carried in the direction of an arrow by carrying rolls 10 and 10', the sensitive material 1 is exposed to the light transmitted through a filter A and is exposed next to the light transmitted through a filter B. Since the filter density of the filter A is higher than that of the filter B, fog exposure is given where the intensity of the light incident on the photosensitive face of the sensitive material 1 is increased stepwise. The manner of setting of the intensity of incident light in the carrying direction of the photosensitive face of the sensitive material 1 is calculated in accordance with the correct exposure in relationsto the intensity of light and the running speed. Thus, stable fog exposure is performed easily to obtain good positive images finally.

    • PURPOSE:To improve stability of processability by incorporating at least 2 kinds of internally latent image type silver halide grains different in average grain diameter in a silver halide emulsion layer and a compound capable of reacting with the oxidation product of a color developing agent and releasing a development inhibitor or its precursor in one of photographic constituent layers. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide emulsion layer contains at least 2 kinds of internally latent image type silver halide grains different in average grain diameter, and at least one of photo graphic constituent layers contains at least one of compounds each capable of reacting with the oxidation product of a color developing agent and releasing a development inhibitor or its precursor (DIR compound). The internally latent image type silver halide grains, prefer ably, contain 60wt% grains within + or -20% of the average grain diameter, and preferable DIR compounds can be represented by formula (I) Coup-Inhibitor and (II) Coup-TIME-Inhibitor in which Coup is a coupler component capable of coupling with the oxidation product of a color developing agent, and Inhibitor is a group to be released by the coupling reaction with the oxidation product of a color developing agent, and suppresses the development of silver halide, thus permitting the obtained photosensitive material to have good stable processability and to obtain a photographic image smooth in gradation and good in sharpness with high reproducibility.
