摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain the titled nontoxic, thermally stable foam which can show both antibacterial and antifungal effects for a prolonged period of time even when used in a small amount, by heat-treating a mixture of a specified activated fine zeolite powder with a polymer and foaming this mixture. CONSTITUTION:A porous natural or synthetic zeolite having an ion exchange capacity >=11meq/g (dry basis) and a large specific surface area is allowed to carry 0.005wt% (dry basis) at least one bactericidal metal selected from among silver, copper, zinc and thin and is activated by heating so as to adjust the water content to 5wt% and the average particle diameter to 15mu or below. In this way, activated fine zeolite powder (B) is obtained. A mixture obtained by mixing a polymer (A) such as PE, PS, PVC, polyurethane resin, nylon or rubber with 0.03% above component B is heat-treated to form a uniform mixture, and this mixture is mechanically foamed by using an inert gas such as CO2.

Second, the antimicrobial zeolite is heat-treated within such a temperature range as to be higher than the temperature to induce crystal phase transition thereof and the crystal structure of the antimicrobial zeolite is deteriorated or destroyed, and finally, the objective composition, antimicrobial fine crystal powder freed from zeolite characteristics consisting mainly of alumina and silica, is obtained. This composition has a bulk specific gravity of 0.8-1.4 and 5-300m /g in specific surface area. As the additional metal ions, there may be at least one kind selected from divalent nickel ions, divalent zirconyl ions and trivalent rare earth metal ions.

A bactericidal and fungicidal tacky adhesive composition is produced by adding preferably 0.02-5% of said bactericidal aluminosilicate solid particles to a tacky adhesive and a bactericidal and fungicidal tacky adhesive tape or sheet is produced by applying said composition to a substrate.
