    • A method and an apparatus for controlling a convergence distance for observation of a 3-D image are provided. The apparatus includes an object image storage, a guide image storage, an image synthesizer, and a controller. The object image storage stores object image data generated by photographing 3-dimensionally an object positioned at an object image point. The guide image storage stores guide image data generated by sequentially moving back and forth of the object image point and photographing 3-dimensionally a guide object. The image synthesizer receives the object image data and the guide image data to generate a synthesized image. The controller controls to sequentially output the guide image data and if a photographing distance of the guide image data coincides with an object image point, controls to stop the outputting of the guide image data so that a convergence distance of an observer may coincide with the object image point.

The pointing device includes an angular velocity detection module detecting a first angular velocity, a second angular velocity, and a third angular velocity of the pointing device turning about three different axes according to movement of a housing, an acceleration detection module detecting an acceleration of the pointing device according to the movement, an attitude computation module computing attitude information of the housing by using the detected acceleration information, a signal conversion module converting the first angular velocity, the second angular velocity, and the third angular velocity into angular velocities in a display coordinate system, respectively, by using the attitude information, and a pointer-coordinate computation module computing coordinates of a pointer to be displayed on a display device by using the converted angular velocity information.

    • A method and system of quantitatively evaluating subjective inconvenience, e.g., physiological fatigue and emotional fatigue, experienced by a user when the user views a three-dimensional display screen, based on objectively measurable indices. The method includes sorting words representing a degree of fatigue associated with a 3D image display among a plurality of words, grouping the sorted words through factor analysis, setting words with the highest factor weight as subjective parameters, receiving evaluation scores for the subjective parameters while varying test values of objective parameter candidates capable of representing 3D image characteristics in numerical values, obtaining a correlation between each of indices for N groups and each of the objective parameter candidates using the evaluation scores, and applying the factor weight to the indices to represent the degree of fatigue in the objective parameter candidates.
