摘要： A method of anatomically positioning screw holes in an acetabular implant that can be used in surgery, such as a total hip arthroplasty. In some examples the method can be used to position holes in a shell of the implant. The method can include, for example, obtaining anatomic data including data defining an arch of bone behind an acetabulum of the living being, the arch of bone extending from a superior anterior portion to an inferior posterior portion of the acetabulum. The method can further include positioning a first series of holes along a first arched line within the acetabular shell, the first arched line determined based on the anatomic data for the arch of bone proximate the acetabulum of the living being.

摘要： A tool for implanting an augment into a cavity in bone can include a proximal portion and a distal portion. The proximal portion can include a handle. The distal portion can include an adjustment member and an augment interface portion. A shaft can be interconnected between the proximal and distal portions. An engagement portion can be configured at the augment interface portion and coupled to the adjustment member. Movement of the adjustment member can urge the engagement portion in a direction outboard relative to the shaft. A related method can include securing an augment to the tool by locating an augment interface portion of the tool at an engagement site defined on the augment. The adjustment member can be moved on the tool in a first direction, thereby urging an engagement portion of the tool into secured engagement with the engagement site of the augment.

摘要： A medical device for preparing a bone of a joint of a patient includes a numerically controlled instrument having a housing including a controller, a processor and a tool driver, a patient-specific reference guide removably couplable to the housing, and a cutting tool removably coupled to the tool driver. The patient-specific reference guide has a three-dimensional inner surface preoperatively configured to mirror and mate with a corresponding surface of a bone of a joint of a patient in only one position. The patient-specific reference guide is configured to automatically register the numerically controlled instrument to the patient's bone portion intraoperatively. The cutting tool is movable along a patient-specific tool path determined during the preoperative plan for preparing a portion of the bone.
