A reflector having a focus is disposed relative to the light source so that the focus of the reflector is at a point of the light source. Accordingly, light rays emitted by light source are refracted by the transparent volume and reflected by the reflector so that such light rays become parallel to a predetermined direction.

The wall of the reflector comprises at least one scallop on one side of a plane passing through the optical axis of the reflector, and at least one additional reflector is disposed on the side of the scallop opposite to the optical axis, this additional reflector being designed to collect at least some of the light coming from the source emerging from the scallop, and to produce an additional beam which is not intercepted by the lens.

This beam includes a zone of reduced illumination which is situated below the cut-off line. The occulting screen includes at least one generally transverse portion which is made of transparent material and which lies above the cut-off line. This transparent portion includes a zone of reduced transparency which forms the zone of reduced illumination within the regulation lighting beam.

摘要： The present invention relates to a lighting module for a vehicle headlight which produces a lighting beam of the type having a cut-off, and which is particularly well adapted for use with light emitting diodes. The module has a first reflector which includes an elliptical surface for reflecting light rays and having an elliptical generatrix, together with at least one first light source which is arranged in the vicinity of the first focus of the said first reflector. The module also includes: a second reflector, for producing a first portion of the cut-off beam and having an optical axis, which passes through the second focus of the first reflector and at right angles to the optical axis of the said first reflector; a third reflector producing a second portion of the cut-off beam and having an optical axis passing through the second focus of the said first reflector and at right angles to the optical axis of the said first reflector; and a fourth reflector or bender, which is arranged between the said second reflector and the said third reflector. The bender has an edge referred to as a cut-off edge, which is arranged close to the said focus of the said first reflector, in such a way as to form the cut-off in the lighting beam, together with a reflective top face which contains the said optical axes of the second and third reflectors respectively.

摘要： A motor vehicle headlamp comprises a light source, a reflector possessing first and second focal regions, and a converging lens. The source is located in the first focal region and the lens possesses a focus situated in the second focal region. The reflector and the lens have axes which are essentially coincident defining the optical axis of the headlamp. The headlamp is intended to generate a light beam exhibiting high intensity along the optical axis and a limited extension below the optical axis. A first area of the reflector extending in the vicinity of an axial vertical plane generates, in a focal plane of the lens, images of the source the center which is substantially offset with respect to the focus of the lens, while two second areas of the reflector located on either side of said first area generate, in the same focal plane, images of the source the centers of which pass close to or onto the focus of the lens.
