摘要： A process for the production of a steel material comprising rolling a steel material having a structure mainly comprising ferrite or ferrite plus pearlite or ferrite plus cementite at a percentage reduction of area of at least 20 % in a ferrite recrystallization temperature region to achieve such characteristics as a crystal particle diameter of not greater than 3 mu m, preferably not greater than 1 mu m, an elongation of at least 20 %, a value of tensile strength (TS: MPa) x elongation (El: %) of at least 10,000 or a percent ductile fracture of at least 95 %, preferably 100 %, in an actual pipe Charpy impact test at -100 DEG C. Particularly, this process yields a steel material containing 0.05 to 0.30 wt.% of C, 0.01 to 3.0 wt.% of Si, 0.01 to 2.0 wt.% of Mn and 0.001 to 0.10 wt.% of Al and having a structure comprising ferrite alone or ferrite and a second phase, wherein the ferrite particle diameter is not greater than 3 mu m and the areal ratio of the second phase is not greater than 30 %. An untreated steel pipe having the composition described above is heated to (Acl + 50 DEG C) to 400 DEG C and subjected to stretch reduction at a cumulative diameter reduction ratio of at least 20 % in a rolling temperature range of (Acl + 50 DEG C) to 400 DEG C. In this case, the rolling process preferably contains at least one rolling pass having a diameter reduction ratio of at least 6 % in the stretch reduction. When the contents of C, Si, Mn and other alloy elements are kept at low levels and stretch reduction is carried out in the temperature range described above, a steel pipe having high ductility and strength and improved toughness and stress corrosion crack resistance can be manufactured and the resulting pipe can be used as a line pipe. The fatigue resistance can be improved, too.

摘要： A steel mother pipe obtained by a solid phase butt-welding pipe-making process or a welding pipe-making process is reduced by heating the pipe prior to the reduction at a temperature of exceeding 100 DEG C and lower than 800 DEG C wherein the temperature of the steel pipe being reduced is controlled within a defined range. The temperature difference along the circumferential direction of the mother pipe at the inlet side of a reducer is within a defined range, and the steel pipe at interstand positions of the reducer is also controlled in the temperature. By virtue of this control, the reduction becomes possible at low load while suppressing work hardening without degrading surface properties. The resultant product pipe has a dimensional accuracy maintained at high level.

摘要： A welded steel pipe is formed by heating or soaking an untreated welded steel pipe having a steel composition containing, on the basis of mass percent: about 0.03% to about 0.2% C, about 2.0% or less of Si, not less than about 1.0% to about 1.5% Mn, about 0.1% or less of P, about 0.01% or less of S, about 1.0% or less of Cr, about 0.1% or less of Al, about 0.1% or less of Nb, about 0.1% or less of Ti, about 0.1% or less of V, and about 0.01% or less of N; and by reduction-rolling the treated steel pipe at a cumulative reduction rate of at least about 35% and a final rolling temperature of about 500 DEG C to about 900 DEG C. The welded steel pipe exhibits excellent hydroformability, i.e., has a tensile strength of at least about 590 MPa and an nxr product of at least about 0.22. The treated steel pipe is preferably reduction-rolled at a cumulative reduction rate of at least about 20% below the Ar3 transformation point.

摘要： A method of producing a high-strength high-toughness martensitic stainless steel seamless pipe which includes heating a martensitic stainless steel raw material to an austenitic range and subjecting the raw material to piercing and elongating to form an original pipe. The original pipe is cooled to form a structure substantially composed of martensite in the original pipe. The original pipe is reheated to a temperature in the dual-phase range between the Ac1 transformation point and the Ac3 transformation point, and is subjected to finishing rolling at an initial rolling temperature T ( DEG C) between the Ac1 transformation point and the Ac3 transformation point. The original pipe is then cooled to form a processed pipe. The processed pipe is tempered at a temperature below the Ac1 transformation point. The reduction in area R in the finishing rolling step may be in the range of 10% to 90%, and the initial rolling temperature T and the reduction in area R may satisfy the relationship: 800 ≤ T - 0.625R ≤ 850.
