摘要： A balanced transmission connector, includes a relay board, a plug body for balanced transmission provided on an end part of the relay board, a cable for balanced transmission connected with another end part of the relay board, and a shield cover assembly covering the relay board, the plug body for balanced transmission, and a part of the cable and including a first half shield cover having slide wall parts, an edge of which has a step-shaped surface including a base flat surface and a raised flat surface extending in parallel and in a longitudinal direction of the edge. The base flat surface is positioned on an interior side of the side walls, and a second half shield cover having side wall parts, an edge of which has a step-shaped surface including a base flat surface and a raised flat surface extending in parallel and in a longitudinal direction of the edge, the base flat surface of the side walls of the second half shield cover positioned on an exterior side of the side walls, wherein the raised flat surface of either one of the first and second half shield covers is in direct contact with the base flat surface of another one of the first and second half shield covers in an engaged position in which the first half shield cover and the second half shield cover are connected together.

Plural contact members of the connector individually contact respective, plural contacts of the counter connector when coupled together. A contact module of the connector has a pair of contacts individually contacting and short circuiting a corresponding pair of respective contacts of the counter connector, in a selected one of the coupled and uncoupled states thereof. The contact module may include a pair of output terminals corresponding to the pair of contacts and a switch, actuated between first and second states in accordance with the coupled and uncoupled states of the connector, a selected one of the coupled and uncoupled states producing short circuiting of the pair of output terminals.

The leg portion and the lugs are exposed on a bottom surface of the housing. The coaxial connector is mounted on the circuit board with the leg portion pressed against a signal pad on the circuit board for electrical connection and the lugs pressed against a ground pad for electrical connection.
