摘要： PURPOSE:To stably obtain a ceramic superconductor having high critical current density by heating a formed raw material of the ceramic superconductor in an oxygen-containing atmosphere, partly fusing it and subsequently cooling it through two specified stages. CONSTITUTION:A raw material capable of producing a ceramic superconductor such as Y-Ba-Cu-O-based one or Bi-Sr-Ca-O-based one is formed into a prescribed shape and the resultant formed material is subsequently heated and kept for a prescribed time at a temperature (T1) higher than the temperature where the formed material is partly fused in an oxygen-containing atmosphere. The partly fused formed material is then cooled to the solidification temperature (T2) and kept for a prescribed time. The atmosphere is subsequently changed to an inert gas atmosphere and the formed material is then cooled from temperature (T2) to the room temperature, thus obtaining the objective ceramic superconductor. The obtained superconductor can suitably be used as a cable or a distributing wire material.

Thus, the superconductor 3 is oxidized and reduced appropriately at heating process during production and in addition, infiltration of detrimental elements into the superconductor 3 can be prevented. This process yields an oxide superconductive mold with excellent superconductivity, which can be practically used for conductors and components of devices.

One surface of the sheet 13 is coated with a silver layer 14, and four pieces of the resulting sheets 13 are laminated. The resulting laminated body 15 is spirally wound six times to form a spiral cylindrical body 16. This is heated to perform a debinder treatment, and transferred into a rubber tube 17 followed by compression molding. This is heated to manufacture an oxide superconductive current lead 18.

CONSTITUTION:When hot rolling a multilayer composite billet by use of a quadruple roll means, the rolling surface of each roll of the quadruple roll means is made a concave surface having a specified curvature, beforehand, so that, at the time of hot rolling, the roll may be thermally expanded by working heat and the rolling surface thereof may be flat. Accordingly, the surface of the conductor obtained becomes flat. Namely, the cross-sectional configuration of a rolling surface 2 of the quadruple roll means 1 at room temperature exhibits a concave configuration with a specified curvature. However, when the roll means 1 is heated up to a rolling temperature, it is thermally expanded by which the surface 2 becomes flat. As a result, a ceramic superconductive conductor obtained is good in shape and excellent in superconductive characteristics.

Thereby, a current lead 3 is forcedly cooled and heat of intrusion into the lead 3 can be reduced.
