SOLUTION: Information equipment at a home comprises a reception means for receiving reception information which is received from the outside of a house, and user identification information for identifying the target of the reception information, an information storage means for storing the received information and user identification information and for storing personal information, including the user identification information and finger print information of the target user, and a finger print authenticating means for authenticating a user, based on information on finger prints that have been read and information on stored finger prints corresponding to the user identification information of the user concerned, while being equipped with a finger print sensor for reading the user's finger print. Then, only the user who has been authenticated as the utilization target by the finger print authentication means, can acquire reception information corresponding to the user.

Those circuit supervise the transmission lines at both the ends of the transmission line connecting intra-office units mutually and convert the fault information between the transmitter such as the multiplexer and the switching unit. Consequently, the transmission-line fault can easily be bracketed and it is possible to cope with the fault rapidly.
