    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve wear resistance of a cutting edge and prolong the service life of a cutter by covering both surface of an intermetallic compound of Fe and Al at a central part, with Fe group electric heating material in material for an electric heating cutter for cutting resin or the like by electrically heating the cutter itself. SOLUTION: At the time of manufacturing material for electric heating cutter, an Al plate is held between two plates formed of Fe group electric heating material or Ni group electric heating material, pressure-welded by rolling and then heated to produce an intermetallic compound of Fe or Ni and Al. Both surface of the intermetallic compound of Fe and Al at the central part are thus covered with Fe or Ni group electric heating material so as to obtain material suitable for cutter material hard at a part to be a cutting edge and having toughness on the whole. Fe group electric heating material to be used is an alloy or the like composed of Cr: 15-20wt.%, Al: 2-5wt.% and Fe for the rest, and Ni group electric heating material is an alloy or the like composed of Cr: 15-25wt.% and Ni for the rest.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the hardness in the part of a blade edge and to improve the corrosion resistance over the entire part by coating both surfaces of an intermetallic compd. of Ni and Al, such as NiAl.Ni3 Al, in the central part with a precipitation hardening type Ni alloy. SOLUTION: The intermetallic compd. of Ni and Al is formed by holding an Al sheet or Al alloy sheet between precipitation hardening type Ni alloy sheets and subjecting these sheets to rolling and press welding, then heating the same. This compd. is subjected to precipitation hardening, by which the cutlery consisting of the materials treated in such a manner is formed. The precipitation hardening type Ni alloy includes an Ni alloy consisting, by weight % (hereafter the same), 2% Be and the balance Ni, Ni alloy consisting of 2% Be, 3% Al and the balance Ni, etc. The Al alloy to be used includes an Al alloy consisting of 5% Cu and the balance Al, etc. The heating temp. for forming the intermetallic compd. of Ni and Al and subjecting the compd. to precipitation hardening is specified to 400 the 800 deg.C and in the case of the precipitation hardening type Ni alloy consisting of 2% B and the balance Ni, this temp. is specified to 400 to 650 deg.C.
