摘要： Embodiments of a method for pair bending glass articles is provided herein. In the method, a first glass article and a second glass article are stacked to form a stack. The first glass article includes a first surface, a second surface that opposes the first surface, and a first composition having first annealing and softening temperatures. The second glass article includes a third surface, a fourth surface that opposes the third surface, and a second composition having second annealing and softening temperatures. The annealing temperatures are within 35 °C of each other and are at least 550 °C. The softening temperatures are within 35 °C of each other and are at least 750 °C. In the method, the stack is placed on a mold, and the stack is heated to a sagging temperature such that a shaped stack is formed.

摘要： Embodiments of thermally and chemically strengthened glass-based articles are disclosed. In one or more embodiments, the glass-based articles may include a first surface and a second surface opposing the first surface defining a thickness (t), a first CS region comprising a concentration of a metal oxide that is both non-zero and varies along a portion of the thickness, and a second CS region being substantially free of the metal oxide of the first CS region, the second CS region extending from the first surface to a depth of compression of about 0.17•t or greater. In one or more embodiments, the first surface is flat to 100 µm total indicator run-out (TIR) along any 50 mm or less profile of the first surface. Methods of strengthening glass sheets are also disclosed, along with consumer electronic products, laminates and vehicles including the same are also disclosed.

In some embodiments, the glass-based article includes a non-zero metal oxide concentration that varies along at least a portion of the thickness (e.g., 0• t to about 0.3• t ) and a maximum central tension of less than about 71.5/√( t ) (MPa). In some embodiments, the concentration of metal oxide or alkali metal oxide decreases from the first surface to a point between the first surface and the second surface and increases from the point to the second surface. The concentration of the metal oxide may be about 0.05 mol% or greater or about 0.5 mol% or greater throughout the thickness. Methods for forming such glass-based articles are also disclosed.

The interior surface is resistant to delamination. Before contacting the glass container with the substantially fluoride-free aqueous treating medium, the exterior surface of the sidewall comprises strength-limiting surface flaws having a first shape, and after the contacting the exterior surface of the sidewall with the substantially fluoride-free aqueous treating medium, the strength-limiting surface flaws have a second shape.

摘要： Embodiments of the present invention pertain to antimicrobial glass compositions, glasses and articles. The articles include a glass, which may include a glass phase and a cuprite phase. In other embodiments, the glasses include as plurality of Cu 1+ ions, a degradable phase including B 2 O 3 , P 2 O 5 and K 2 O and a durable phase including SiO 2 . Other embodiments include glasses having a plurality of Cu 1+ ions disposed on the surface of the glass and in the glass network and/or the glass matrix. The articles may also include a polymer. The glasses and articles disclosed herein exhibit a 2 log reduction or greater in a concentration of at least one of Staphylococcus aureus, Enterobacter aerogenes, Pseudomomas aeruginosa bacteria, Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus, and E. coli, under the EPA Test Method for Efficacy of Copper Alloy as a Sanitizer testing conditions and under Modified JIS Z 2801 for Bacteria testing conditions. In some embodiments, the glass and articles exhibit a 2 log reduction or greater in a concentration of Murine Norovirus under Modified JIS Z 2801 Test for Viruses testing conditions.
