    • A refrigerating system having, arranged to form a closed circuit, a refrigerant compressor, a condensor, a receiver and a plurality of sets of evaporators and expansion valves with all the sets connected in parallel with one another. The system further includes a throttle mounted in the circuit between the condenser and the receiver, a branch line and change-over valves for selectively connecting the circuit on the delivery side of the compressor to each evaporator and a passage connecting each evaporator to the receiver by bypassing the associated expansion valve, so that the refrigerantin the state of a compressed gas can be supplied to a desired evaporator to defrost the same and the refrigerant condensed in the defrosted evaporator can be returned to the receiver. The system further includes a bypass line having a throttle, connecting a gas compartment in the upper portion of the receiver to a line on the suction side of the compressor, for returning to the line on the suction side of the compressor, flash gas incorporated in the liquid refrigerant returned from the defrosted evaporator to the receiver.

    • The electrode cartridge for measuring an internal stress of a film of plating includes a cathode support, an anode support, a shield plate and an anode shell. The anode support supports an anode plate so that the anode plate is opposite to the cathode plate with a predetermined spacing. The shield plate is interposed between the cathode and anode plates. A through hole is made in the shield plate in such a manner that the through hole confronts a plating section and has a geometry which is reduced by a first predetermined scale factor relative to a geometry of the plating section. An opening is made in the anode shell in such a manner that the opening confronts the plating section and has a geometry which is magnified by a second predetermined scale factor relative to the geometry of the plating section.

    • A hermetic motor-compressor for a refrigerating system. The hermetic motor-compressor has a motor component and a compressor component drivingly coupled to each other and disposed within a closed container. The refrigerant gas introduced from an evaporator of a refrigerating system through a return pipe is once released into the space within the closed container and then sucked by the compressor component so as to be compressed and discharged to the outside. A barrier is provided on the outer periphery of the motor and compressor components for preventing a main flow of the refrigerant gas introduced into the closed container through the return pipe from flowing into the circumference of high-temperature portions of the hermetic motor-compressor.

    • After copper of printed circuit board lined with copper foil is etched with an acidic etching solution containing chloride ions, the resulting etching solution containing copper ions is placed in a cathode compartment partitioned with a diaphram from an anode compartment, while placing a caustic soda solution in the anode compartment, and subjected to electrolysis. In the cathode compartment, copper is deposited on an electrode without any redissolution of the deposited copper, and recovered, whereas in the anode compartment chlorine formed on an anode is absorbed into the caustic soda solution without any discharge to the atmosphere. The etching solution thus freed from the copper ions is admixed with the same kind of chemicals as consumed by the etching, and used again as a regenerated etching solution.
