    • PURPOSE: A system and a method for detecting an engine misfire are provided to prevent the wrong detection or non-detection of the engine misfire caused by the rotational number of an engine or a load. CONSTITUTION: A misfire-detection starts and a crank position signal and a reference mark are detected through an engine misfire detection system. Thereafter, an electronic control unit selects the optimum phase delay angle. A period of execution or any of top dead centers is measured. A change rate of the periods is measured and a reference value of misfire detection is established to be compared with the change rate of the periods. Then, misfire is decided by comparing the change rate of the periods so that the misfire detection is completed.

In the present invention, the first and second support members replaces the pan springs and stoppers of the convention structure, so that vibration and impact transmission can be prevented, thereby reducing its size and manufacturing costs as some of the components are not used.     • PURPOSE: A processing device for the crank angle signal and a processing method thereof are provided to enhance the reliability of a missing tooth period in a low temperature and a low velocity and to start a vehicle even in a cold state. CONSTITUTION: A processing device for the signal of a crank angle comprises a crank angle sensor(10), a switching circuit(20), a timer/counter(30), a phase sensor(40) and an ECU(electronic control unit)(50). The crank angle sensor outputs an analog signal according to the rotation of a sensor wheel(11) with a magnetic pickup(12). The switching circuit converts the analog signal to a digital signal and the timer/counter detects the tooth period of the crank angle signal and the number of pulses. The phase sensor outputs a cylinder identifying signal by interlocking with a camshaft. The ECU controls an engine with information from the timer/counter and the phase sensor. With the crank angle signal and the cylinder identifying signal, the number of pulses is counted to calculate the number of rotations. Due to the use of two signals, an engine is finely controlled in a low velocity and a cold start without error.
