    • A current collector for a secondary battery is provided to obtain a current collector coated with an electrochemically antioxidant compound, and thus to impart improved overdischarge safety to a battery. A current collector for a secondary battery comprises a collector for making electron flow between an electrode active material and a battery terminal and a coating layer formed on either surface or the both surfaces of the collector, wherein the coating layer comprises a thioglycerol compound having an oxidation potential of 3.8V or higher. The thioglycerol compound includes an alkylthioglycerol, acylthioglycerol, vinylthioglycerol, aliphatic cyclic thioglycerol or aromatic cyclic thioglycerol compound.
