    • A mobile wireless communication unit for communicating with a wireless network node and one or more wireless remote communication units is described. The mobile wireless communication unit comprises: at least one receiver (206) configured to receive data content from at least one wireless remote communication unit using peer-to-peer communications when the mobile wireless communication unit (155) is located outside network coverage of and not connected to the wireless network node (125); at least one memory (216) operably coupled to the at least one receiver (206) and configured to store the received data content; at least one transmitter (222) operably coupled to the at least one memory (216); and a processor (228) operably coupled to the at least one memory (216) and the at least one transmitter (222). When the mobile wireless communication unit (155) is located in network coverage of the wireless network node (125) and connected to the wireless network node (125) either direct or via one or more further wireless remote communication units, the processor (228) is configured to access the data content from the at least one memory (216) and the at least one transmitter (222) is configured to transmit the accessed data content, which was received when the mobile wireless communication unit was not connected to the wireless network node (125) and located outside of network coverage, to the wireless network node (125).

    • An edge node (240) of a mesh network that is configured to support cloud services comprises a processor, operably coupled to a content store (246); and a transmitter coupled to the processor and the content store (246) configured to send at least one attribute to a network entity (210) that comprises a content agent registry (218) that records and identifies content to be delivered to the edge node (240) based on the at least one attribute, wherein the at least one attribute is based on a characteristic of the content. A receiver is configured to download the identified content from the content agent registry (218); a content agent (242) is coupled to the receiver and configured to route to and store the identified downloaded content (232) in the content store (246). The receiver is configured to receive from at least one other edge node (241, 243), a mesh router device (241, 243) and identify therefrom the at least one attribute based on the characteristic of the content previously downloaded to the edge node, and in response thereto the transmitter of the edge node is configured to deliver the previously downloaded and stored content (232) locally from the content store (246) via a wireless link (250) to the at least one of: at least one other edge node (241, 243), a mesh router device (241, 243).
