摘要： A Gigabit Ethernet-based passive optical network that can reliably transmit data is disclosed. The network includes an OLT for receiving a public key through a transmission medium, encrypting a secret key by means of the received public key, transmitting the encrypted secret key, encrypting data by means of the secret key, and transmitting the encrypted data, the OLT being located in a service provider-side. The network also includes an ONT for transmitting the public key to the OLT, receiving the secret key transmitted from the OLT, decrypting the secret key by means of a private key, receiving the data, and decrypting the received data by means of the decrypted the secret key. The public key is used for encrypting the secret key. The secret key is encrypted by means of the public key. The data is encrypted by the OLT by means of the secret key.

摘要： A Dynamic bandwidth allocation method using OLT (Optical Line Terminal) and ONU (Optical Network Unit) for use in GE-PON (Gigabit Ethernet Passive Optical Network) system is disclosed. The OLT's scheduler performs scheduling upon receiving multiple-queue request information contained in the REPORT message from the ONU, and transmits a combined scheduling result associated with one ONU using a GATE message. An ONU's scheduler performs scheduling upon receiving a bandwidth allocated by the OLT, and allocates a transfer bandwidth to its own queues.

摘要： In a gigabit-capable passive optical network (GPON) and a method for bandwidth allocation in the GPON system, when an optical network unit (ONU) requests a bandwidth less than its preset minimum bandwidth, the requested bandwidth is allocated to the ONU. When there are traffic-container (T-CONT) classes of ONUs not allocated bandwidth after the requested bandwidth allocation, a spare bandwidth after the requested bandwidth allocation is dynamically allocated to the T-CONT class of each ONU according to a weight of each T-CONT class and a percentage of each T-CONT buffer queue. Thus, in the short term, upstream channel transmission according to T-CONT priority in a congested state can be ensured, and, in the long run, network traffic congestion can be prevented.

摘要： A solution for allowing conditional access to IP-based broadcast services in a passive optical network is disclosed. When a subscriber requests broadcast services by selecting a broadcast channel, an IP set-top converts the request into an IGMP join message and forwards the message to an ONU/ONT, a unit on the subscriber's side. The ONU/ONT delivers the message to an OLT interworking with a router while storing mapping information of the port that received the message and a MAC address of the selected channel. Thereafter, the OLT extracts information on MAC address of the IP set-top box and the requested broadcast data. The OLT compares the extracted information to the subscriber's subscription information and determines whether to provide the requested broadcast services. If the broadcast services may be provided, the broadcast data provided from the broadcast server is transmitted to the IP set-top box via ONU/ONT based on the stored mapping information.
