    • Wheel (100) for vehicles, which comprises a rim (104) with shaped flanges for gripping a tubeless tire (101). The rim includes a first unidirectional air valve (106) that is inserted through a first orifice, for inflating the tubeless tire; a second orifice through which a second unidirectional air valve (107) can be inserted; a tubeless tire (101), gripped by the rim (104); a backup tube (103) that is connected to the second unidirectional air valve (107) and when deflated, is attached to the rim surface that extends between the flanges. The backup tube (103), when inflated through the second unidirectional air valve, is capable of supporting a tire punctured by a piercing object. The wall of the tube consists of a rigid layer on its perimeter, that faces the inner side of the tread of the tire and is made of a rigid material for protecting the tube from being punctured by the object, when inflated; and a spacing layer that is externally affixed to the perimeter of the rigid layer. The spacing layer is made of less rigid material and is utilized for providing spacing between the inner side and the rigid layer. The less rigid material increases the contact area between the inner side and the spacing layer, in the vicinity the object.

The tire has two circumferential sidewalls, at least one circumferential intermediate wall interposed between the sidewalls, and a transverse base extending from one sidewall to the other and defining a compartment between a sidewall and an adjacent intermediate wall or between two adjacent intermediate walls. Each compartment is adapted to assume an expanded symmetrical configuration when an adjacent sidewall or intermediate wall is punctured. A carcass portion is provided within each sidewall, each intermediate wall and base. A shock absorber is provided in the vicinity of a junction connecting each intermediate wall to the base.     • The invention relates to a multi compartments tire assembly which comprises: (A). a multi-compartment tire which comprises: (i). a tire having at least one separating wall, and two side walls; (ii). a tip at the end of each separating wall, having a cross sectional shape essentially of an arrowhead; and (B). a wheel which comprises: (i). a cylindrical main portion; (ii). for each separating wall, a first circumferential recess at the cylinder which is complementary in its shape to the shape tip of the separating wall; and (iii). a plurality of pairs of lockers that are equidistantly mounted, one against the other, along said first recess, that by applying a force on the tip of the separating wall, maintain and lock the tip within the first recess, thereby defining two separate air compartments.

    • The invention relates to a multi-compartments tire assembly that includes a multi-compartment tire with at least one separating wall and a pair of sidewalls. The tip of the separating wall has an essentially arrow-shaped cross section. The tire is mounted on a wheel including a cylindrical main portion with a circumferential recess corresponding to each separating wall, with a shape complementary to the tip of the separating wall. A plurality of locking member pairs are equidistantly mounted along the recess, and apply a force on the tip of the separating wall to secure the tip within the recess, thus defining two separate air compartments in the tire.
