    • A method of loading a green tire on a bladderless tire vulcanizer of the inside gripping type and an apparatus thereof, in which both bead portions of the green tire can be inserted into respective bead rings of a mold accurately and reliably.The constitution is such that, on a bladderless tire vulcanizer having a pair of upper and lower pressing members 8 and 9 in opposition to the upper and lower bead rings of tire molds and capable of being expanded and shrunken to mold the inner surfaces of the bead portions of the tire, a green tire is supplied to a position above a lower mold 4 from above the shrunken pressing members 8 and 9 while the inside of the upper bead portion of the green tire is gripped; the pressing members 8 and 9 are interposed between the upper and lower beads of the green tire whose upper bead portion is gripped; the pressing members 8 and 9 are expanded radially; the gripping of the green tire is released; the green tire is shifted to the pressing members 8 and 9; the pressing members 8 and 9 are lowered; and the lower bead portion of the green tire is seated on the lower bead ring 5 portion of the lower mold.

    • The present invention is drawn to a method an an apparatus for cutting a sheet member embedded with wires for use in tire, having the following characteristics. That is, a wire-embedded member is cut with a rotatable cutter at the middle of the member in a width-wise direction thereof while applying a pushing force, effected by a high pressure, on the cutter. The cutter is shiftably and rotatably mounted on a frame so as to be movable in a shifting direction while rotating. The cutter movement may also deviate in a direction orthogonal to the shifting direction thereof. The completion of the cutting at the middle of the member is detected by an electrical connection between the cutter and a support member, which connection is confirmed by a confirmation control mechanism. The cutter is shifted by a pushing mechanism from the middle to one side edge of the sheet member under a pushing force, effected by a pressure lower than that of the high pressure, so as to carry out a first half of a cutting operation. The cutter is then returned to the middle under a force effected by pressure even lower than that effecting the pushing force. The cutter is shifted again from the middle to the other side edge of the sheet member under a pushing force effected by a pressure equal to that generated during the first half of the cutting operation so as to carry out a second half of the cutting operation. The cutter is then raised after the completion of the cutting operation and is returned to the middle in preparation for the next operation. The pushing and the shifting of the cutter is controlled by a suitable control device.

    • An improved forming apparatus for a breaker layer to be used in a radial tire is described herein. The apparatus essentially comprises a drum device (D), a press contact device (A), first and second breaker material folding-wrapping devices (B) and (C), means for rotating said drum device (D), and means for moving said respective devices (A), (B) and (C) in the axial direction relative to said drum device (D) and for fixing them at predetermined positions. The drum device (D) includes a plurality of segments which have a width of their outer circumferential surfaces approximately equal to the width of the breaker layer to be formed, which can form a substantially cylindrical press contact surface with their outer circumferential surfaces, and which can expand and contract the diameter of said cylindrical contact surface. The press contact device (A) also includes a plurality of segments which can be displaced radially inwards and outwards, and which form a substantially cylindrical press contact surface with their inner circumferential surface concentrically with the cylindrical press contact surface of said drum device (D) when they are displaced inwards. The first and second breaker material folding-wrapping devices (B) and (C) are disposed symmetrically on the opposite sides of said drum device (D) and concentrically with said drum device (D). Each of the devices (B) and (C) is movable in an axial direction and includes a plurality of segments which can displace radially inwards and outwards and which are movable in the axial direction.
