    • A vibration wave motor includes a housing made up of a base housing member having an inner housing and an outer housing secured on opposite sides thereof to define two chambers. First and second stator members are secured to the inner and outer housings in each chamber respectively, and first and second rotor members secured to a spindle rotatably mounted in the housing are disposed in the respective chambers in contact with the first and second stator members, respectively. First and second spring members are provided for pressing the respective rotors and stators together and first and second adjusting members are provided for adjusting the pressure applied by the first and second spring members.

    • An attitude control system for driving and controlling an attitude controlling mechanism associated with a driver's seat. A semiconductor read-only memory stores attitude establishing standard data corresponding to values of a physical stature and an input/output controlling program data associated with a microcomputer. When a value of the stature is inputted into the microcomputer from a keyboard, the microcomputer reads attitude establishing standard data which corresponds to the stature value inputted from the semiconductor read-only memory, and controls the energization of the attitude controlling mechanism until an attitude indicated by such data is reached. An adjustment of the attitude is possible by a key operation. Data representing the prevailing attitude of the attitude controlling mechanism can be stored in a non-volatile semiconductor memory in association with a driver identification code. When an identification code is inputted, the microcomputer reads attitude data from the non-volatile semiconductor memory and controls the energization of the attitude controlling mechanism until an attitude indicated by such data is reached.

    • A power supply device adapted to supply power to a pair of electrodes formed on opposite end surfaces of an ultrasonic vibrator. The device has a circuit layer arranged on a flexible base. The circuit layer has a pair of supply electrodes arranged at its one longitudinal end and a pair of end connections arranged at the other longitudinal end. A pair of conductive layers electrically connect the supply electrodes and the end connections, respectively. Each supply electrode has an inner surface of substantially the same shape as the end surface of the ultrasonic vibrator, the inner surface being joined electrically and mechanically with the electrode of the ultrasonic vibrator. The flexible base has an electrode base covering an entire outer surface of each of the supply electrodes, and a circuit base holding the conductive layers. A shield layer may be disposed on the flexible base in order to screen electromagnetic radiation from the circuit layer.
