The components comprise tank sections, bulkheads, contactor drums, paddle wheels, shaft assemblies including associated bearings and supports, each of which may be assembled from preformed subcomponents if desired. Rotating biological contactors are assemblable at an installation site, which may be a confined space if desired, by two men with simple tools. 摘要： A coupler comprising a latching mechanism for latching against an attachment pin of the accessory, and a blocking bar 158 for selectively resisting movements of the latching mechanism, wherein the blocking bar has an integrated spring or piston, or both, the integrated spring or piston being mounted within a chamber within the blocking bar. The hydraulic cylinder (162, fig 11) is mounted within the chamber (160, fig 11) along an axis substantially parallel to, but spaced from, the longitudinal axis of the blocking bar 158. The cylinder may have a free end (164, fig 11) also lying on that axis of the cylinder 162. The free end of the hydraulic cylinder can bear against a fixed element and cause the blocking bar to be lifted from its blocking position (Fig 9) to its non-blocking position (Figs 13 &14). The hydraulic cylinder 162 can therefore raise the blocking bar from a blocking position into a non-blocking position.

摘要： A coupler 10 comprises first and second jaws 18, 26 for receiving accessory pins (24, 25, fig 3). A first latching mechanism 28 is associated with the first jaw 18 and has an arm 42 operatively connected to and extending away from a latching plate 38. The second latching mechanism is a pivoting hook 30 comprising a pivot axle 36 about which it pivots relative to the coupler frame and an actuator axle 56 about which it pivots relative to an actuator 54. The rear of the hook is bifurcated, one fork comprising a stepped surface 62, for interaction with a blocking bar 58, and a second fork comprising a flange, a finger or a groove 66 for defining opposed bearing surfaces where arm 42 may selectively reside during coupling and decoupling. The blocking bar 58 has an integrated spring or piston mounted within a chamber within the blocking bar.
