    • A motor drives a window glass of a door of a vehicle in an opening direction and a closing direction. A rotation sensing device outputs a pulse signal in response to rotation of the motor. A controller senses pinching of an object by the window glass based on the rotational speed signal. Specifically, the controller computes a rate of change in the rotational speed, i.e., a rotational speed difference based on the rotational speed signal. The controller senses start of the pinching based on the rotational speed difference. When an amount of change in the rotational speed since the time of sensing the start of the pinching exceeds a pinching determining threshold value, the controller confirm the pinching of the object.

    • A panel member control system for controlling a panel member includes a motor, a rotation detecting means, and a pinching detecting means. The rotation detecting means detects a rotational speed of the motor. The pinching detecting means detects an occurrence of pinching of an object by the panel member when a pinching indicative value exceeds a pinching determination threshold. The pinching detecting means includes a disturbance detecting means and a correcting means. The disturbance detecting means determines whether the motor is in a disturbed state based on a change in the rotational speed. The correcting means corrects the pinching determination threshold in view of a result of the determination made by the disturbance detecting means.

    • A motor controller includes: a motor control part for driving and controlling a motor; an estimated temperature computing part for computing an estimated temperature of a winding of the motor; and a motor protecting part for protecting the motor from being burned when the estimated temperature becomes larger than a predetermined temperature. A temperature rise value of the estimated temperature is computed according to operating conditions of the motor at the time of passing electric current through the winding. This temperature rise value is added to an estimated temperature stored in the estimated temperature storing part to update the estimate temperature. To compute the temperature rise value, an optimum temperature rise value is computed by the use of a plurality of temperature-rise value computing expressions.

    • A control apparatus for a closure device includes pinch detector for detecting a foreign body being pinched by an opening/closing member when the variation degree of a movement of the opening/closing member reaches a predetermined threshold value. When this control apparatus for a closure device determines that a vehicle is running, the threshold value is set at a second threshold value, which is reduced in a detection sensitivity of pinch as compared with a first threshold value set when the vehicle is stationary. When the apparatus detects that a load not smaller than a predetermined value is applied by disturbance to the opening/closing member in a closing direction, the threshold value is set at a third threshold value, which is reduced in the detection sensitivity of pinch as compared with the second threshold value.
