摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent completely falling of packed particles in the interrupted stage of upward water flow by supporting the packed particles by arranging shape steel with a groove part faced downward to an upper stage and shape steel with a groove part faced upward to a lower stage alternately with appropriate distance. CONSTITUTION:A supporting stage 11 for packed particles is constructed of an upper stage 11a and a lower stage 11b wherein the upper stage 11a comprises, for example, angle steels 12 with the groove part faced downward and being arranged with appropriate distance, and the lower stage 11b comprises for example, angle steels with the groove part faced upward being arranged to receive packed particles 3 falling through the gaps between the upper stage angle steels 12, 12. Since the packed particles 3 received in the groove part of the shape steel 12 of the lower stage 11b forming an angle of repose theta, there is no fear for causing falling in the stage of interrupting feeding of feed water. When water is fed downward, stirred flow is generated in the groove of the shape steel 12 constituting the lower stage 11b, causing packed particles 3 in the groove to fall down uniformly over the whole area of the supporting stage.

摘要： PURPOSE:To reduce a cooling loss and to carry out reliable ignition and effective regeneration of a trap of an electric heater, by a method wherein the trap is regenerated by heating the trap simultaneously with leading of secondary air into it after suspension of an engine. CONSTITUTION:A particulate trap 18 is connected with an exhaust manifold 16 and the trap 18 is formed by providing a trap material 20 made of foamed unit made of an inorganic material within a casing. An electric heater 22 is provided within the trap 18. A secondary air leading duct 23 opened within an exhaust pipe upstream the trap 18 is connected through a secondary air control valve 24 with a secondary pump 26. When necessity for regeneration of the trap is detected, simultaneously with actuation of the heater 22 after suspension of an engine the secondary air is led into the exhaust duct from the pump 26 for carrying out the regeneration of the trap.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a three-component catalyst having excellent purifying characteristics by making the specific region on a monolithic carrier support three- catalytic components of the catalyst for purifying an exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION:As the catalyst for purifying an exhaust gas, an A component comprising oxide of cerium, iron or the like, a B component comprising oxide of nickel, manganese or the like and a C component comprising platinum, rhodium or the like are supported by a monolithic carrier but the A component is supported at the upstream side of the carrier against the exhaust gas, the B component at the downstream side thereof and the C component is supported over the whole thereof. By this supporting arrangement, by the combination of the A and the C components and the combination of the B and C components, harmful components in the exhaust gas can be removed simultaneously and an excellent three- component catalyst is obtained.

摘要： PURPOSE:To provide a simple structure offering reduced installation and running costs by installing the first catalytic layer having reaction and nonreaction sections and the second catalystic layer consisting of a reducing catalyst. CONSTITUTION:A single ammonia or an ammonia-containing organic mixture gas is admitted through the gas inlet 1 and is preheated to the specified temperature in the heating section 2. The preheated gas is passed through the first catalytic layer 8 consisting of an oxidation catalyst 3 and a noncatalyst 4. The gas passed through the oxidation catalyst 3 causes its ammonia content to be reacted with oxygen in the gas and transformed into nitrogen oxides and steam, and an organic gas, if contained, is also oxidized into CO2 and steam. On the other hand, the gas passed through the noncatalyst 4 passes as it is. Next, the nitrogen oxides and ammonia in the passed gas are decomposed into nitrogen and steam by the action of the reducing catalyst in the second stage catalytic layer 5. The oxidation catalyst 3 and noncatalyst 4 are to be proportioned to obtain the optimal ratio suited to the purpose.

摘要： PURPOSE:To effect long-period, stable granulating operation with reduced irregular size production and return quantity in granulating active alumina using a dish-type granulator by maintaining the temperature of content in the dish wtihin a range of specific temperatures. CONSTITUTION:While rotating a dish 1 with motor 2, powder to be granulated is supplied from a constant-quantity powder feeder 3 in the dish 1. At the same time, water is sprayed from nozzle 4 on the dish 1 so as to form spherical grains on the dish 1. Using a dish-type granulator having such mechanism, active almina is grained while dish content is maintained at 45-60 deg.C. To maintain this temperature, for example, a warm water heater 17 is installed in hopper 12 to maintain the powder in the hopper 12 at a specific high temperature, and the warmed powder is supplied to the dish 1. The method can enhance the strength of granules and reduce the quantity of irregular size such as collapsed product in granules.
