    • PURPOSE:To provide a laver sheet forming machine capable of reducing the width thereof and readily controlling the water level for forming laver sheets, by using a wide reed screen for the laver and a sheet forming apparatus having a sheet forming base plate with bellows between the base plate and a sheet forming water pipe. CONSTITUTION:A reed screen 31 for laver is carried by chain conveyors, and transferred to a base plate 25 for sheet forming water on lifting sheet forming frames 6. A transverse beam member 4 having sheet forming frames 6 is lowered by the action of a cam to hold the reed screen 31 between the frames 6 and the base plate 25. A sheet forming water pipe 30 is lifted by a linking mechanism to contract bellows 28, and water for sheet formation therein is lifted to the interior of the sheet forming frames 6. Valve rods 17 are lifted simulatneously to open valve openings 14 in a moment, and a raw stock in valve cages 11 is made to flow down to the sheet forming frames 6. The sheet forming water pipe 30 is lowered to expand the bellows 28, and the water for sheet formation is withdrawn to form laver sheets uniformly on the reed screen 31.

The longitudinal member 4 attached to both ends of the transversal members 1, is composed of a pair of oppositely extending square connecting members 5 and a pair of supporting cylinders 7. The supporting cylinders 7 are bendably connected together by a connecting pin 13, and the square connecting member 5 is inserted into the cylinder. One end of the connecting pin 13 is fixed to the chain, and holds the rectangular frame 10 in the flat state.

    • PURPOSE:A laver drainboard is placed on a base board consisting of a water- permeating elastic layer and a porous plate and the upper water-absorbing plate comes from one edge of the drainboard to press it gradually until the whole surface is pressed, then the pressed laver sheet is gradually peeled off, whereby the flaver sheet is dehydrated without sticking to the board and fluffing. CONSTITUTION:A laver drainboard comes to the position beneath the upper water- absorbing plate, chain 14 is stopped, cum for unlocking 18 is made to rotate to enable chain 14 to come down. When lifting cylinder 6 makes the upper water- absorbing plate come down, one edge of the plate contacts with the laver drainboard B and the plate comes to presse all over the surface of the drainboard uniformly before long. The water in the raw laver A is squeezed out through the elastic layer 2 and porous plate 1 in the base board. The surface of the elastic layer comes into gaps of the drainboard to prevent the formation of long fluffs of the laver. After the dehydration, the water-absorbing plate in lifted and spring 9 works to prevent lever 8 from rising, whereby the upper water-absorbing plate is inclined. Thus, the water-absorbing layer 3 gradually removes from the surface of the raw laver as keeping a straight-line contact between the flaver sheet and the plate without the formation of the coarse surface on the laver sheet.

    • PURPOSE:To make the mounting and unloading of drainboards easy and to lessen their damages, by equipping the drainboards for laver capable of making two or more sheets of laver in parallel with reinforcing members continuously, followed by setting slidably the reinforcing members on furnishing members which are mounted on chains. CONSTITUTION:The drainboards 1 for laver with long sideways have such width that they can make two or more sheets of the laver A in parallel, and the reinforcing members 3 having the same width as that of a laver attaching surface are furnished continuously on both sides of the drainboards. The reinforcing members 3 are set on the furnishing members 5 having the engaging rods 7 which are engaged with the conveyor chains 6 so that the drainboards 1 are mounted on the chains. The flexible levers 9 which are set on the sliding cylinders 10 supported by the chain engaging bars 11 at the centers of the both ends of the drainboards are supported by the chain engaging bars 7.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the width of a laver sheet forming machine and miniaturize the machine, by using a necessary number of sheet forming frames provided on a transverse beam member closely side by side and a wide reed screen for the laver. CONSTITUTION:A reed screen 31 for laver carried by chain conveyors is set on a base plate 25 on lifting sheet forming frames 6. The sheet forming frames 6 are then lowered by the action of a cam to hold the screen 31 between the frames 6 and the base plate 25. When a sheet forming water pipe 30 is lifted by the action of a linking mechanism, bellows 28 are contracted to lift the water for the sheet formation therein to the interior of the sheet forming frames 6. A transverse beam member 4 is simultaneously lifted to open valve openings 14 by valve bodies 15 in valve cages 11, and a raw laver stock is made to flow in the sheet forming frames 6. The sheet forming water pipe 30 is then lowered to expand the bellows 28, and the water for forming laver sheets is withdrawn to complete the sheet formation. The sheet forming frames 6 are lifted, and the reed screen 31 is caried out to set the next reed screen.

    • PURPOSE:A screen bearing wet laver sheet on the surface is placed between flexible water-absorbing bodies which are extended horizontally on both upper and lower sides of the screen and squeezed with a pair of rollers shifted in order to produce good-quality laver sheets. CONSTITUTION:Water-absorbing bodies 1 and 1' are composed of integral combination of a belt 3 with a number of pores 2, a sponge plate 4 and a net 5 and fixed to the frame 7 with a pin 8 on one end and with a spring 13 on the other. When a screen bearing wet laver sheet on one surface A comes between a pair of water- absorbing bodies 1 and 1' by the aid of chain 15, nipping rollers is made to move along guide 20 by the revolution of the screw rod 21 and press the water-absorbing bodies 1 and 1', resulting in dehydration of laver sheets. In some cases, the dehydration machines may be set in a pair and the nipping pressure and the direction of roller movement may be changed.
