摘要： A plating anode comprises a titanium basket within which slabs, blocks or like preformed elements of the plating metal are accomodated in superposed array between vertical guideways. As shown, the guideways may be made from two upright channel-section members 10, either imperforate or perforated to a height corresponding to the basket immersion depth, which are secured together by being welded to an imperforate base plate 11 and to a rod 12 with ends 13 bent to form hooks for suspending the basket within the plating bath from a bus-bar over the bath. The basket may include a perforated, mesh or like encircling wall 14, or two side wall parts extending between and welded to the guideways, made from expanded titanium sheet. Alternatively, spaced horizontal wires encircling and welded to the guideways may be used. The height of the uppermost element can be read off on a scale 16.

[Class 40 (iv)] In order to increase the response of a sound translating device at low frequencies, the front and rear of the diaphragm are connected by an acoustic path which includes a variable opening for adjusting the augmentation of the sound waves. As shown in Fig. 1, the rear surface of the diaphragm 13 of a sound reproducing unit is enclosed by a cabinet 1 whose inner surface may be lined with acoustic damping material, the cabinet constituting an acoustic capacitance. Openings 9 adjacent to the diaphragm may be adjusted by a rotary shutter 15 to vary the acoustic impedance of the low-frequency reinforcement path from the rear of the diaphragm. In a second embodiment, Fig. 6, an acoustic delay line 19 is provided between the rear diaphragm surface and the adjustable openings, the optimum length of the delay line giving a phase shift of 45 degrees. In a modification the delay line may comprise a conduit connecting two independent cabinets containing the sound reproducing unit and the adjustable openings respectively. The adjustable opening may alternatively comprise an iris or a linear sliding shutter. The relationships between response and frequency with various shutter positions are set out in Fig. 4 (not shown). Specification 382,268 is referred to.
