摘要： The invention relates to reflective mixed-mode twisted nematic liquid crystal displays. A direct-view display consists of a front substrate (1), a polarizer (3), liquid crystal (5) and a rear substrate (7) having a reflective coating. The twist angle, polarizer angle and retardation are optimised and fall within the following ranges: twist angle of between 67 DEG and 83 DEG ; polariser angle of between 5 DEG and 21 DEG or between 95 DEG and 111 DEG ; and retardation of between 0.18 and 0.28. An alternative configuration for the display is a projection display having a front substrate, a rear substrate with a reflective coating, liquid crystal between the substrates, a polarising beam splitter and a screen.

The device (11) includes a plurality of annular magnetic portions (L1-L3) each having a central aperture (17) which are aligned coaxially to form a central bore (19) through which the fuel line (21) is threaded. The central apertures (17) have varying diameters and are arranged in a graduated sequence starting with the smallest aperture (L3) at one end of the device and the largest aperture (L1) disposed towards the other end. The magnetic portions (L1-L3) are arranged so as to provide a uniformed magnetic field having poles of opposite polarity disposed at opposite ends of the bore (19). Optionally, a further magnetic portion (31) in the form of an inductive coil (33) may be incorporated into the device adjacent to the first magnetic portions (L1-L3) so that the fuel line can pass through the central bore (45) of thecoil immediately after the central bore (19) of the first annular magnetic portions. Alternatively, the device can be fitted upon a spark plug (71) to magnetically treat fluid in a combustion chamber prior to and during combustion.

摘要： A handle position indication device used in a safety seat equipped with a rotating handle, comprising embedding grooves on the safety seat and a positioning mechanism that is composed of a fastener, a spring component and a release button. When the handle is swung relative to the safety seat to a specific position, the fastener is pushed by the spring component to such a degree that it is trapped in a locked position in an embedded groove and thus fixed, though the handle may be allowed to swing freely if the fastener is pulled through a release button to a released position outside a separate embedded groove. In addition, two indicating areas (for example, a color block) are on the positioning mechanism for differentiation, while the handle has a indication window 22 through which different indicating areas are shown when the fastener is in a locked position or in a released position, so that a user may visually determine whether the handle is in a locked position or not.
