    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave heating device uniformly and efficiently irradiating a heated object with microwave without using a rotating mechanism.SOLUTION: In an applicator 10, a heated object 12 such as a foodstuff is placed on the top face of a metal table 11 in a minimum capacity. A conically cut fluororesin spacer 13 is disposed in the upper part of the heated object 12. The applicator 10 is constituted so that the heated object 12 is irradiated with the microwave synthesized in a T-type waveguide 1 through a conically cut silicone resin spacer. Thus, the synthesized microwave transmitted from the T-type waveguide 1 while having an electric field direction difference of 90 degrees is refracted by wavelength-contracting action of the silicone resin spacer, and the area of the heated object 12 is concentrically and uniformly irradiated with the synthesized microwave. Accordingly, the heated object 12 can be uniformly and efficiently heated without providing a turntable and the like.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave heating device and a T-type waveguide for preventing microwave interference of a plurality of magnetrons and for obtaining high output microwave power.
      SOLUTION: Magnetrons 1a, 1b operate simultaneously, microwave power from the magnetron 1a and microwave power from the magnetron 1b are synthesized in a T-type microwave synthesizing waveguide 6 formed so that directions of mutual electric fields are deviated by 90° from each other, and are radiated to an applicator 8 with high output. At this time, since a cut-off wavelength λc determined by the dimension of an aperture in its height direction in a launcher 2a is smaller than the wavelength λ of a microwave transmitted to the launcher 2a from the magnetron 1b through the main waveguide 6a of the T-type microwave synthesizing waveguide 6, the microwave from the magnetron 1b is not transmitted to the magnetron 1a. Therefore, even if two magnetrons are simultaneously operated, microwave power can be synthesized without mutually causing microwave interference.
