摘要： It is intended to provide an air purifying filter media, which has a high dry tensile strength, a high wet tensile strength in association with a high water resistance, and a high repellency and exhibits bactericidal/sterilizing or antimicrobial means properties using enzyme reaction in a gas phase. Namely, an air purifying filter media having a high dry tensile strength, a high wet tensile strength (a high water resistance), and a high repellency as well as sterilizing properties which are obtained by blending a filter media fiber having a functional group with a mixture of the modified enzyme which has an ionic polarity opposite to the ionic polarity of the whole filter media fiber as described above, and sterilizing properties with an ionic synthetic resin binding having the opposite ionic polarity similar to the modified enzyme.

摘要： A filter medium for an air filter , characterized in that it comprises a filter material having a glass fiber as its primary component and an alkyl ketene dimer adhered to the surface of the glass fiber; and a method for producing the filter medium which comprises a step of subjecting a dispersed slurry of a raw material fiber to a wet papermaking to form a wet paper, a step of immersing the wet paper in an aqueous dispersion or solution of the dimer or a liquid mixture of the dimer and a binder resin, or applying or spraying any of the above-mentioned liquids to the wet paper, to thereby allow the dimer to adhere onto the surface of the glass fiber, and a step of drying the resultant wet paper having the dimer adhered thereto. The filter medium exhibits a reduced amount of an out gas generated when it is used with ventilation and also exhibits high water-repellency and satisfactory strength in various applications such as air conditioning of a building and semiconductor manufacturing.

The dispersion is used as a sizing agent and shows a dilute stability in paper-making steps as well as a sufficient sizing effect in a low content addition range, even in acidic paper making without using a calcium carbonate filler, and in neutral paper making using alum.

摘要： A process for making paper using a substituted succinic anhydride as a sizing agent which has the steps of preparing pulp slurry containing (a) an aqueous dispersion of a substituted succinic anhydride in which a cationic tapioca starch containing at least 0.3 percent by weight of basic nitrogen is added and mixed, and (b) a colloidal silica, and forming a paper sheet to improve the retentions of a fine fiber and a filler in the pulp slurry in the sheet forming step and to largely suppress the operation of decreasing the sizing performance of the substituted succinic anhydride with the colloidal silica (b) added as the retention aid, thereby preparing sheet paper having excellent sizing effect. Thus, the process for making paper can not only remarkably reduce the sizing cost but can also efficiently utilize the fine fiber and the filler in the pulp slurry.
